Sheesh - even Cam had a Y/A of 7.2yds during his Pats stint with a 65.8% completion rate (better than Mac's 65.2 and 63.7 last and this year respectively), and Cam faced what looked like 8 in the box every time. Of note is Cam's PocketTime of 2.6 versus Mac's 2.2 and 2.3, but Cam had to deal with a pressure rate of 26% versus Mac's 19.2% and 23.3%, so Cam threw for more yards per attempt and was more accurate despite getting pressured more. This is despite not being able to make a simple dump off throw seemingly half the time and having games where he didn't have a single drafted WR playing (maybe that was just 1, but a lot of others included N'Keal plus undrafteds). If we track Mac Jones yards per attempt across the seasons we see totals of 7.3, 6.8, and now 6.2 this season. I can accept that Mac Jones is a "dink and dunker" with not a lot of arm strength. But how did his arm somehow REGRESS even more after 3 years of pro level football weight room training?
Edit: Interesting that Cam had a higher Yds/Comp at 11.0 than Mac's ever had (10.8, 10.4, 9.7), and in the stat that matters, Cam was 7-8 while Mac's been 17-18 (reg season) so far.
