I felt like Zeke or Fournette would end up in NE, both good players past their prime but with tons of experience, Zeke is a good signing, I think motivation could be an issue but we will see

The best thing about the Elliot signing, is that we don't need 'Prime' Elliot (it would be *nice* but it's not necessary).
So long as he brings his elite pass protection, and is average enough to spell Stevenson 8-10 carries a game, it's worth it. Last year's 'fell off a cliff' numbers/averages from Elliot would be more than good enough.

One thing I didn't really realize about Zeke is that he's a big dude, almost exactly the same size as Rhamondre.

Another Musket-mis-Fire from their Scat* guy:

This is a REALLY bad hot take. No necessarily because he didn't think it was a good signing, but for the ridiculous thought process he gives for his reasons. "a WOPPING 38 carries more than Pollard." Well in reality that a very UNDERWHELMING 2 more carries per game.

He then comments on his low 3.8ypc while at the same time complaining that he took most of the GL runs. Well the FACT is when you are getting all the GL runs (say inside the 10) your YPC is going to go down even when you are successful First you have essentially 11 guys in the box and then if you go in from the 2 standing up, you only get credit for a 2yd gain. The guy who gets all the GL runs is going to have his ypc average over the year drop, say 3-5 tenths of a yd. Elliot's 12 TDs in a BAD year for him is a testament to his value in the red zone, NOT a reason not to sign him.

Finally he is complaining that Elliot is gong to take away carries from Rham because BOB will favor him. This is the weakest of all his complaints. He fails to see the BENEFITS of having Zeke here that go beyond that his value as a guy who will make Rham a better runner in December BY taking reps from him. That Elliot's presence on the team gives the Pats an added insurance on the depth chart at a position that is CRITICAL to the offense's success. And finally Zeke's presence makes Rham NEED to excel to his potential, because if he doesn't, HE'LL be the guy backing up Zeke. Nothing better for a coach is 2 guys fighting for reps EVERY day.

There are reasonable arguments to assail this addition. I could do a few myself. He wasn't my first choice. BUT we DID need a #2 when Harris or Strong failed to pop. Zeke was by FAR the best option when it was clear that Cook was going to chase the hype in NJ. But this jamoke isn't smart enough to put any down. Ian, we REALLY don't need to resend THIS guy's vomit.

Zeke is also our best 3rd down back.
