Deandre Hopkins Visiting Patriots Next Week

Keep reading tweets that Hopkins will visit Wednesday AND Thursday. I find that really interesting. As a player, it must be a wow moment after meeting with Bob Kraft, since he is such a nice guy and great owner. It seems players really seem to genuinely like and admire Kraft. Plus I’m sure he’ll show Hopkins those 6 Lombardi trophies. And we already know the mutual respect Belichick & Hopkins have for each other. I think after two days meeting the owners and coaches, he might sign with the Pats, and never leave the building.

Yeah two day visit is interesting, definitely a good thing.

If Hopkins really wanted to come to the Pats, what would he have said he wanted in a team?

Super Bowl contender? Nope
Star QB? Nope
Stable management? Yes
Hard working QB? Yes
Great Defense? Yes

What did he actually say?

What he wants

A two day visit right after minicamp concludes & there’s no other visits scheduled? I like their chances.

It seems like OC BOB likes D Parker let's say we get D-Hop in the fold.

D-Hop - Juju - Bourne - Parker and Thornton...that's a good mix of vets with the young Thornton.

No room in the Inn for Boutte and Douglas I smell a Foxborough flu on the Horizon it will be contagious.

I could see them keeping 6 in that scenario, but a few things would probably have fall into place:

1) They'd need to be comfortable with either only 2 QBS or only 2 TEs on the 53.

2) One of Boutte or Douglas would have to show something on ST to justify a potential role even while the other 5 are healthy.

But I do think it would behoove them to keep one of those two kids (whoever shows better in TC), because you want a developmental WR on a rookie contract going into next camp, where only JuJu and Thornton are under contract (possibly Hopkins too, but who knows how that potential deal will be structured).

Based on all that above? If they keep a 6th WR I'd wager that Douglas is the guy. Could fill a gadget role that provides a jolt around midseason, and will compete for primary KR duties as well as backup PR. Also potentially frees up Marcus Jones to focus on PR and defense in year 2.

BB Teams don't really carry Six WR's he favors O-Lineman or a Third TE. That said I get what you are saying with the young Guys but One or Two have the show they belong...good competition.

Don't sleep on Ed Lee the Rhode Island kid built very similar to Douglas he could surprise.

TL; DR: He left without signing therefore TEN didn't show him the money, despite having a far worse set of WRs than we have.

Bill put the bug in his ear when we played AZ. Was hyping him up to the point Hopkins wants the whole bag. Kraft might be desperate enough to give him a 2 year 35 mill kind of deal.

That's all we need him for and he could help the younger WRs in that span. I have no doubts that D-Hop would make Mac Jones look close to Elite.

This can't happen fast enough for me I a not against a Three year deal.

I’m thinking 3 for 45, third year a void year, front load using the signing bonus, heavy with bonuses and incentives.
