How much longer will you drink the BB kool-aid?

I didn’t say “roll with 1 TE” I said you have a starter and a backup. We have the starter. We need the backup.
They’re a team that doesn’t roster a FB and who wants to run the ball at a league leading pace…they need two #1 TE’s.

Now they have that with Gesicki, the most expensive free agent available at the position… guess that answers that question.

Gesicki was far from the most expensive free agent at the position. He is exactly what I was referring to. Henry’s backup and the 2nd TE in cases where we need one. He will play less than 50% of the snaps, which is what backups do.
Scratch that need off my list.

Besides Evan Engram he was the best receiving TE available, I’d bet my right nut they draft one as well.

Going into the season with one capable TE was going off to war with one bullet. Not smart…

I never said go into the season with 1 TE. I listed TE as a need. But it is a primary backup not a starter.

I really wanted us to draft Freiermuth even when we had just signed Henry and Smith. I always like having a rookie to develop under some vets.

who is this genius that you were going to hire after you fired the GOAT and he was going to be the guy who let us overcome the idiot who won 6 SBs?
Kraft stated in a Pats book that he wants BOB to take over the team when BB leaves and now he is here.

Belichick is no GOAT with Mac Jones, Cam, Stidham, Hoyer. Looks like a JAG struggling to win a game.
There isn’t a way to create 50 million in cap space in the situation they were in. Otherwise every team would just do it and add 50 million more in players every year.
False

You can trade players and create cap space.

Gotta love this!
A lot of people are angry that the Patriots have not signed enough players.
When the Patriots actually so sign someone, another large group gets angry because he "aint good enough"...

Agreed, they could play a game tomorrow and be competitive if they had to.

NFL teams bring 90 players to camp, by my count the Patriots have 68 players on the roster with 22 roster spots available and only 11 draft picks.

They also have a bunch of scrubs at the end of the depth chart they could cut tomorrow... they certainly don't need two long snappers now that they have Cardona back.

Again, somebody else is doing the drafting and FA moves. Kraft openly trashed those years of BB drafting, but you continue to repeat that same lies.

No TE and a clown show at WR.

Wow, the PATS had no draft picks? Good info as usual from you.

Theres always a way to create more cap space.
You know there is a part of me that believes ever YOU don't believe some of the crap you post here, Johnny one note. You are just a bitter old crone who gets your nut off by antagonizing the rest of us. And you are REALLY good at it.

He doesn’t, he’s trolling.

Mac recently followed Deandre Hopkins and OBJ on twitter just like he did Gesicki before they signed him.

If the Pats signed both guys tomorrow he’d be calling them washed up. The “BB sucks” crowd would still call this off-season a failure.

They’re either trolls or fools, we should just recognize them for what they are.

For obvious reasons Id rather be ME than YOU.

Nobody is forcing you to read anything that I post. You just want what you can never have like control and positive BS spin. Then when it blows up you vanish and lay low until its safe to come out with a new tale how great things are in NE. You're much older than me too. Also, I look younger than my age since I escaped Massachusetts decades ago.

If there isn’t a negative thing to say about him and he’s a top 5 WR then I guess you’ve just demonstrated WRs don’t have that much impact on a teams success.
What?? Are you just putting random phrases together?

He won because he was part of a great team. He would not have been part of a great team here in 20,21,22.
He couldn’t win in 19. Had they kept him they couldn’t have improved the team in 20. That’s a fact. And in 21 they would have had 50 mill less to spend than they did building that team.
Sorry, Brady didn't walk into a "great team" in 2001. Records matter, right? The team was 5-13 with him on the sideline and then 14-3 once he became the starter. What's obvious there is the impact of a single player.

The rest of it is just the same old ridiculous argument. Because Brady didn't win 18 consecutive Super Bowls in New England, it shows us something, like he "couldn't" win in the seasons that the team fell short. The team appeared in the Super Bowl in 50% of Brady's seasons, that's a phenomenal percentage, and it's evidence that they could have won any given season, but obviously that's not actually going to happen every season, and when it doesn't, it doesn't mean they couldn't win, it just means they didn't. I would apply the same to 2020, 2021 & 2022, all of those Patriots teams would have had a chance with Brady, because they always did, and we saw him provide the same opportunities for another team (that hadn't won a playoff game in 18 years prior to his arrival).

Jesus... you asked me since the rebuild began why they haven't been good after thanksgiving.... and now you bring up Brady.
You still haven't answered that question.

Dude... the obsession is downright creepy at this point. If you can't stick to topic, please stop responding.
lol there's no obsession. The player doesn't get the proper respect from some fans. I'm just setting the record straight. Plus, my answer was intended as lighthearted. So relax.

Asset... what does that even mean?
Of value to the team. Better than average or mediocre impact.

Zappe put up an exceptional season as a part time starter, Cole Strange looks like a future Pro Bowl guard, Devante Parker is no easy cover and a physical presence outside, Kevin Harris and Pierre Strong are talented and looked good in limited snaps on a bad offense
These guys just happened to persevere despite the coaching? Is that what you're saying? Then how come the 1st round franchise QB couldn't do it?

Tyquan looked amazing in camp, good in spurts and is supremely talented
You're not letting this one go? I guess he's another one who couldn't fight through the bad coaching (which is an odd thing to say with the GOAT HC there). Here's the word I'm attaching to Tyquan until I see otherwise... weak.

Outside of Brady , only mahomes seems to be winning consistently . Eagles had a stud team and won because of lapse of judgement by Bill in benching Butler and Rams had the most complete team since early 2000s rams . So it's not easy to win Superbowls.as far as postseason goes, can Newton is a washout year. Last year if not for Rham fumble or the lateral pass or special teams flubbing away during bills game we might have been in second postseason under Mac. The last rookie QB to get in consecutive postseason was mahomes , not Lamar, not Allen not even burrow .

So Mac is fine . He might not be great but he should do fine with better coaching and a decent supporting cast. We need to build team and game-plan around Mac . I think we goofed on two signings ( agholor, Jonnu) and that did not allow us to recover offensively and we had Harry draft as well . This year , looks like the chess pieces are good. Gesicki + JuJu > Meyers + Jonnu.

Thornton should see some progress . Rham would be even better . Bourne if he starts to get involved more is going to be fun . Parker as X receiver can do the boundary receiver job to the T if he is healthy . Yes there are lots of ifs but the pieces seem complimentary. If we hit our top 3 picks correctly this draft , we should be on to something .

The sane person take is that BB is a legendary coach but deserves criticism for some of the bad moves he's made, especially lately.
Does 2015 count as lately? 2017?

But overall I mostly agree with your summary.

I think that's too far back considering the length of his career in New England. My cutoff would be 2019.

You still haven't answered that question.
I did... twice... back on page 11.

Proving you don't read responses. You just repeat your canned "BB sucks" and "Brady possessed magic powers" stock answers and think repetition is a good rational argument.

You're deliriously obsessed with Brady... the guy is retired.

Move on with your life and pretend there are some great players still playing in 2023.
Of value to the team. Better than average or mediocre impact.
What was Brady's value in 2000, what was it in 2001?

The Patriots are adding and developing young talent, despite your fantasies about how players arrive to the NFL fully formed... most don't.
These guys just happened to persevere despite the coaching? Is that what you're saying? Then how come the 1st round franchise QB couldn't do it?
The offense went from 6th in scoring in 2021 to 25th in 2022... who persevered?

Matt Patricia was a disaster, and you're talking about both sides of your mouth. On one hand BB sucks for hiring Patricia to run the offense, on the other hand the offense should have been great but wasn't and it was the QB's fault. The important thing is you keep your agenda flowing at peak efficiency. Good grief, you're more transparent than a wet t-shirt contest.

Randy Moss on the Raiders in 2006 was washed up, Moss on the Patriots in 2007 was the best WR in the league.

You don't understand football.

We know exactly what you are too.
