Player Signing Patriots Showing Serious Interest in JuJu Smith-Schuster (Update: Done)

Passer rating is a comprehensive number and a quality indicator of a QB's overall passing production. And like I said it doesn't even take into account rushing totals where Wilson has had a huge advantage over Mac.

Passer ratings are misleading. In 2017, he only had a 95.4% passer rating despite throwing for 34 TDs. In 2021, he had a 103 passer rating despite only having 25 TDs.

They're different. Meyers is a little better at getting open, quicker change of direction running patterns, and really good hands. JuJu is stronger, better runner after the catch. I loved Jakobi, but I'm happy if Bill & BOB are happy.

Obviously this has been in the works for the past few days at least - the Pats orchestrated this, it wasn't a reaction to losing Meyers.
Pats are signing Juju 3 years 33 mil.

Meyers tweeted "Cold world Bro"

A positive comment from you…this is progress. Marking the day in the calendar. Btw…

I am among the most positive posters on this board. Even when you keep being a **** and try to troll me with a tweet that I pointed out someone used to say something it doesn’t I’ve let it go. May be time you grow up now though whatever joke you think you were making continues to flop.

EXACT SAME $ DEAL!?!?
This shows it was not an expected thing for Meyers to go. They are similar players.
We'll see if JuJu can keep his crazy in check, but just based on Meyers excellent character and Patriot Way-ness, I'm still not convinced this is a step up. Same age, but JuJu has 2 more years of tread on him.

Yep. He'll put a hat on someone in the run game.

Right, i was never a big fan of the guy’s attitude and stuff but i can see why bb is probably drooling over what he brings on the field.

I'm not going to lie, I was bummed when we let Meyers walk for much lower than I expected he would be paid. I view JuJu as a superior player, so in my mind the front office as vindicated for making the decision they did on Meyers.

Juju is an upgrade over Meyers, but I would still like to see them continue to add to their receiving corps. Right now their only outside receiver is Parker who has an injury history. I would love for them to sign OBJ or Chark to add to their receiving room and then add a small shifty slot in the draft.

I expect the offense to be more spread than last season, thus carrying 6 receivers on the 53 man seems more plausible than last season.

Excited to see where they spend their remaining $20+ MM.

Cut Bourne and Parker and save $11m in 2023.

Trade 14th to Cinci for Higgins.

Sign Higgins 5y/$120m $60m guaranteed

WR1- Higgins
WR2- JuJu
TE1- Henry
TE2- Rookie
RB1- Rham
WR3- Berrios
WR4- Thornton
WR5- JAG
I think this is it, we have out 4 WRs.
Juju
Thornton
Bourne
Parker

Resources should be spent in other areas.

Sorry I get you confused with another poster that used to be on this board who was constantly arguing. It was just a negative for the whole board. His name was Andy Johnson. All good .

Glad we cleared that up.

This can't be the big splash. juju isn't striking fear into opposing teams. This is a lateral move from Meyers to save Kraft a few bucks because his $21million is "earned" instead of "guaranteed"

Ok I was a little worried about D-Hop's age but dudes a walking First Down Meyers who??

We're probably done but I don't think it's enough firepower.
I’m more concerned with lack of weakness and having effective players all over the field that superstar power.
Teams that are the strongest in their area of weakness win more and more consistently than teams that are the strongest in their area of strength.
