Player Signing Patriots Showing Serious Interest in JuJu Smith-Schuster (Update: Done)

Wanna see the terms, but this has a chance to go poorly. He's had a questionable attitude in the past. I'll keep an open mind, but put me on record for saying this wouldn't have been my first choice. If he has a great season everyone can come back and laugh at me.

EDIT: Still not in love with it, but seeing the contract I feel a bit better. I thought for sure that if Meyers got 3/33, that JuJu would command more. Guarantees still withstanding, at least the value seems right, even if I don't love the player.

Expensive version of Kendrick Bourne. Will they bench him too?

Everyone is crying about them signing wideouts, so they go get one and everyone starts *****ing. Jesus.

Smith-Schuster got the same deal as Meyers. I still would rather have Smith-Schuster because he is better suited for the Patriots' offense.

I still think they add another WR to be the #1.

Last 2 contracts Ju-Ju signed were for $8m and $3,7m. Let's see if he does better.

If were overpaid for this guy, whose stats were inflated because he was Mahomes #1 option outside of Kelce, Belichick will show he's spending too much money for average players.

26 year old WR who had a pretty good year in KC, the dominoes are starting to fall into place.

That's a really solid deal. I thought he'd cost more than that on a multi-year contract. Curious what the guaranteed dollars are.

Going to be interesting to see how JuJu and Meyers get on this year, they basically chose one over the other it's the exact same deal.

His peak is better than Myers but not really digging the contract

Ok, I change my mind. I hate this signing. Just turned on WEEI and Adam Jones likes this signing. There has to be something wrong with the signing then.

Makes you wonder though.

McDaniels could've had Smith-Schuster for the same amount.

Why did he select Jakobi instead?

Interesting contract... just for comparison's sake:

Jakobi Meyers: 60 games, 235 catches (3.92/g), 2758yds (46/g), 8 TDs

JuJu: 79 games, 401 catches (5.08/g), 4788yds (60.6/g), 29 TDs

Both get the same contract. JuJu has some injury problems, but still, surprising that the market would value them the same, especially with JuJu coming off a good season and a ring.

He wanted "his guys", I thought it was pretty obvious.
