That's understandable... but wouldn't it be more cost effective to keep Bourne? I would like him to at least have a chance in the BOB system to flourish like he did with Josh. Still feeling like a bigger move Is to come..Tbh they are probably looking at options for a cheaper depth guy that they already know how he fits into their system. I can see a situation where they acquire a "#1 guy" and release/trade Parker or Bourne to cover their year 1 cap cost, and just want a guy like Dorsett who can be a decent 4th WR who is cheap and doesn't need to learn the whole offense that they can also easily move on from if a younger WR beats him out.
Makes sense why LV would also be interested since they're looking to move on from Renfrow, similar reasoning.
Just thinking through it, if you acquire a guy who costs $20M a year and his year 1 cap hit is around $6M, you cut or trade Parker OR Bourne (didn't say both - let's say they keep Bourne) and save about $6M this year on the cap, so your costs are a wash this year. Then you have New #1 Guy, Bourne, Thornton left on your roster for the same price as you were gonna pay Parker, Bourne and Thornton, but you still need a solid 4th guy. Enter Dorsett who only costs you probably $1M. You could keep Parker instead but that's an extra $5M that could go to one or two other important players. That's understandable... but wouldn't it be more cost effective to keep Bourne? Interesting! That's very ,very interesting . Well sure I'd be all for it in that case. Beat case scenario we get to keep the WRs and add somehow a WR #1..Just thinking through it, if you acquire a guy who costs $20M a year and his year 1 cap hit is around $6M, you cut or trade Parker OR Bourne (didn't say both - let's say they keep Bourne) and save about $6M this year on the cap, so your costs are a wash this year. Good, lets hope we find someone not named Phillip Dorsett to be such a mentor...Thornton needs a mentor, a teacher with similar skill set.
“Tyquan, do you have a pen? Now pay close attention, because this is the recipe for severely under-producing and never playing as fast as your 40 time would indicate, after being a high draft pick.”Thornton needs a mentor, a teacher with similar skill set.
Oh I'll take Blount any day lol... don't forget about cassis marsh..Awesome, add Cam Newton and LeGarette Blount and they are good to go for 2019.
What a wasted 1st round pick by indy...“Tyquan, do you have a pen? Now pay close attention, because this is the recipe for severely under-producing and never playing as fast as your 40 time would indicate, after being a high draft pick.”
What's Ocho Stinko doing?Pardon me, but this just doesn't move the needle for me.....
Kristian Wilkerson is a much better option....
