Never mind, you're right about the timing. I thought he was suspended after the window closed, but his agent's wording is that he was informed before the Dolphin game.

If the Patriots try that, Bailey should just show the video of the two kick returns for touchdowns from this past game.

And then they can show him videos of the college kickers/punters that they plan on drafting.

Good luck with that.

Teams draft punters/kickers all the time in the draft and, if done correctly, can help right away.

Why does everyone still insist that Kickers & Punters need to be drafted AT ALL?

The two greatest Kickers of the past 25 years were Undrafted; and the rookie Punter who broke one of the longest-standing records in league history (a Real one too, not these flag-football ones) was also - guess what - UNDRAFTED.

Drafted... Undrafted... It's irrelevant.

If they move on from Bailey, and keep Folk, they'll need to find a punter who can also handle kickoffs. And the idea that they can just choose anyone has been proven wrong time and again.

I get in that in the middle of the season it's hard to find good options. But the choice to go with Palardy to replace Bailey when Palardy couldn't kickoff too and he wasn't all that good of a punter either was brutal.
Not being able to get a touchback burned us as much as anything else this year.
Then never trying anyone else for the job either also brutal.

I think they expected Bailey to return a lot sooner than never.

This here exactly. Whatever the circumstances, if Bailey was healthy and ready to go against Buffalo, and Belichick opted to instead make the player ineligible, then it's another unforgivable move. I couldn't get past the Butler benching that cost the team a Super Bowl. But here again we may have an instance of Belichick favoring his personal agenda over what's truly in the best interests of the team.

Obviously the two KO returns were huge difference makers in this game. And the KO out of bounds to give Buffalo the ball at the 40. Bailey has the leg for touchbacks which would have wiped out the returns. Folk doesn't have the leg and it burnt the team bigtime. Patriots fans collectively are way overdue for putting the notion of IBWT in the trash can for good. His personally driven decision making has compromised the the team too often now. Welker, Butler, Bailey, Brady, Patricia, Judge, Stephen, Brian...
The second return was two yards deep in the end zone. Just sayin. But you saw Myles Bryant do Myles Bryant things.

If the NEP chose not to draft Gostkowski they are f-ed.

Shane Lechter was drafted

Ray Guy was 1st rd.

Janikowski was drafted 1st rd

Sometimes you draft talent instead of hoping it is avail at the NFL Bldg 19 store

The future of Jack Jones is still as murky in March as it was in early January.

Is it? The agent said that Jack would get back on task and the Pats dropped the suspension. If he doesn't show up for training camp, I guess that will tell us something, but otherwise it seems like he's on board.

I really hope we get three good remaining years from Jack Jones because he probably won't be getting his Second contract from us.

If we get three good years, he's probably looking at a lot of money coming his way. So he has a lot of reasons to keep his nose clean.

Wow Jack Jones was a older prospect already 25 he'll be a FA @ 28 one Big pay day awaiting him possibly. He has decent size and elite skills you can see that on the football field.
