Anyway, back to Brady.
The Brady Chronology. If I missed anything or have anything wrong feel free to jump in.
2000 – The Pats drafted Brady at #199 upon the insistence of QB coach **** Rehbein (RIP), who had scouted him and expressed his belief that in 20 years everyone would know his name. Boy was he spot on.
2001 thru 2004 – After starter Drew Bledsoe went down in game #2 in 2001, both losses, Brady got his chance and made the best of it, leading the team to an 11-3 record the rest of that season and winning 3 SBs with a 9-0 playoff record in those 4 years. He also helped the team get a record 22 game winning streak
2005 thru 2013 – In spite of not winning the SB Brady helped the Pats get there two more times, once flirting with a perfect season. They were still exciting and pretty successful but things didn't work out for them during that stretch. It was also the time of the most crushing loss that the Pats ever had. I still have friends that don't want to think and talk about it, but in my mind it was worth it to have a dominant 20 years.
2014 thru 2019 – These were the years that Brady’s critics said he was going over the cliff. Man, were they wrong. Instead, Brady helped the Pats get to 4 SBs in 6 years and win 3 of them. These were also the years that Brady had to battle the NYFL over a phony cheating charge while at the same time dealing with his mom’s cancer and possibly a poor marriage.
2020 thru 2022 – In Brady’s golden years all he did was take the previously inept Bucs to the playoffs each season and win another SB, his 7th, more than most teams in NYFL history.
Thanks Tom.
