Any idea what wed be on the hook for with evans and allen contracts? Im a big fan of all 3. Hopkins 2 years 34m is what ive heard which isn’t bad if he is stilll a legit 1.
Evans has 1 year, $13m plus 1.5m roster bonus. Agholor money. Technically has 3 additional void years, but I believe any cap hit associated with those would stay with the Bucs since it’s signing bonus related.

Given how difficult it was for him and Brady to be on the same page, I’m concerned we’d be very disappointed with how he does here….

Wondering why Allen would be available…. But he has 2 years left with $19m and $23.1m cap charges for them for an acquiring team.

It's more than 'isn't bad', it's an absolute steal.

If hes still the difference maker he was , then absolutely. I have not seen alot of him this year other than our game but the stats look pretty good at least for a shortened season

Sounds like we might have to wait until the end of February for O'Brien to be announced.

The athletic beat reporter did an exercise to project the offseason. Wanted to post it here to see how people feel about it. How I'd fix the Patriots: An offseason plan to improve New England's roster

Cut
1. Jalen Mills
2. Hunter Henry
3. DaVante Parker

Extend/restructure
Trent Brown
Judon

Free Agency (now $60 MM Cap space)
Meyers back at 4/47
Juju signed at 4/58
Cameron Sutton (cb) 2/16
Patrick Peterson (cb) 1/7
McDermott, Peppers and Bryant back for a combined $6 MM

Draft
He assumes one of the top 3 tackles (Skoronski, Jones or Johnson) slip to 14. Go Jaylin Hyatt in the second. Sam LaPorta in the third. Cornerback, IOL Linebacker and safeties draft day 3.

Would love to hear other people's thoughts before I give my own.
Assuming that all reports of cap space are slightly overstated, lets say the Pats will start the off season with 40-50MM in cap space.

The guys cuts were ridiculous. Jalen Mills was have a GREAT season before he got hurt AND has position flexibility..
Henry was clearly underused. If you are going to cut anyone it would be Smith.
Parker can be a very effective WR WHEN he is on the field. But that IS an issue.

If I had to cut 3 guys, it would be Aghular, Wynn and Bailey and save about 25MM in cap space.

I wouldn;t mind extending Brown and Judon. as well as Peppers. As for the FA market, his suggestions are at the same positions as everyone else's Go et help at OT, CB, and WR. So what else is new

Every play has adjustments by the WR. When you say "no time for adjustments" that is totally wrong.
I meant because his back was to the QB, he looks up and reaches for the ball. I have to go back and watch it.

I agree on Mills, the cap savings isn't enough to cut him.

Agholar, and Wynn are free agents, I don't expect them back but we can't cut them to save cap space. Not sure if cutting Bailey saves money, I thought suspending him negated his future guarantees.

Henry is obviously better than Jonnu, but more of Jonnu's money is pushed into the future. Even if the Pats waived Jonnu after June 1st it still wouldn't save them as much cap space as cutting Henry. This draft is supposed to have a really good tight end class so even I'd expect at least one TE to be drafted which would make it unlikely they hang on to both Smith and Henry.

5 teams for two games. Will Bills/Titans tag team the Jags?
Jags opponent TBD.

I was not aware that the London held NFL games at 2 different venues.

The Patriots have an exciting uber talented young base of players, the 4th most players already under contract in 2023, to build upon.

They have the 4th most cap space available and once compensatory picks are allotted, they’ll have double digit draft picks with theirs sitting midway through the round.

They have two quality QB prospects and the rest of the young talent is evenly spread out across the roster.

This will be a crucial offseason, especially in hiring an offensive mind to run that side of the team. They have to draft well and sign high value free agents. Assuming this happens, I‘m very excited about the future of this team.

Yes, 2022 was a failure, it was a missed opportunity… but it could be a springboard to better things, or they could miss this opportunity wallowing in self pity. Go Pats!

We know so little about Caley.
I really want a vocal guy though, someone that can inspire players - and not in the old Parcellian way of mind-f's.

Stop teasing us Judon and recruit AD here for real lol.

Can you imagine?? The possibilities and upside for this defense...

Agholor and Wynn are no longer under contract

I don't want BOB back. It would put him in line to take over from BB and don't think that should even be in the cards.

We know that BB is friends with college coaches. 90% of the time we have no idea who they are until it gets reported years after the fact. I'm really hoping BB reaches into the college ranks for a younger, successful OC who come in and run BB's offense.

I also am hoping for an O-line coach out of the college ranks as well. Despite the injuries, I just don't think that Patricia is cut out to do the job. I also question Yates' ability.

I hope that Bill makes the moves amongst the coaching staff ASAP. Both in terms of removing and hiring.

I agree with this. I would rather see them go to a new offensive system, a RPO based system.

Technically they still are until the end of the league year.
Technically the world may end before the league year. And we still can’t cut them and save cap space.
Amazingly on a Saturday morning you couldn’t find anything better to do with your time than write the message.
Get out of the house, touch some grass.

I’m confused Ken. Agholor and Wynn aren’t on the team anymore, so you can’t save money. Agreed on Mills.
