Ok so JC Jackson & Slater were 2nd team AP in '21. So, JC was the last drafted player to make AP-2 but not AP-1. Better than nothing. When was he drafted, in 2018?
Jc was undrafted . We lucked out. If we had a good grade on him, would have been drafted in first 7.

I guess the next focus is the Senior Bowl, where my next draft WR binkie (Tucker) will be showcased. He's someone who might end up being a udfa, but he's the fastest wr (which we all know may not translate at all), and may be a pretty good slot for cheap. Excellent returner that could be a long project. Speed guys I like are Tyler Scott, who seems to be way under the radar, and JHyatt, whose under the radar levels are more like "Ron Hyatt's" at this point, and I'm a Filene's basement shopper trying to find diamonds in the 5th Rd like Diggs or THill.

Last year's draft binkie (CWatson) turned out alright, although I'm not sure he would've worked out here with this offense, his early season struggles/drops, and injuries. My rb bink (Pacheco) seems to be having some success. RB's waaayyy too low on the list to be picking speedster Achane.

I can't even pretend to know more about anything except that Pats need OTs and that even the most optimistic homer in me would get angry if BB doubles down on the Patty. Enjoy the playoffs as much as you can, people.

Yes, certainly. However, I'm still trying to figure out your point from "6-10, 7-9, 7-9." I mean I wouldn't call them down seasons for BB - that's the start of his HC career taking over a 3-13 team.

Nothing difficult to figure out...

People were talking down Payton for multiple losing seasons in a row. In fact, BB had already long since accomplished such a feat.

So let's recap:

Tomlin bad because he's missed the playoffs and only has the one title
Payton bad because he had losing records, IN CONSECUTIVE YEARS!, and only has the one title
Reid bad because he was a "disaster" in the NFC for only going to 5 NFCCGs and 1 SB before moving to KC

But BB missing the playoffs 7 times, having a 3 year losing season streak, and not getting to even one conference championship game while in Cleveland is no big deal, because he won Super Bowls while coaching the greatest QB of all time, something that Bruce Arians also accomplished.

Again, I'm not trying to talk down BB. But he hasn't been Joe Gibbs, winning with 3 different QBs. BB had the Brady advantage, just as Walsh had the Montana advantage when he was winning 3 titles in 10 years, and that needs to be acknowledged and adjusted for when people are talking about the coaching hierarchy.

Nah. When you have 8 Super Bowl rings, not really.

i agree we need to bring in 2 starting caliber OT via draft or FA because brown wasn't that good
also if they want to implement the zone stuff for real then brown isn't a good fit

i would like to keep onwenu at RG to have consistency with the Offense Line, there might be already two new starting OT
They've ALWAYS run "the zone stuff". Scarnecchia said as much. Why do people insist on ignoring him/ Do you think he says s**t just because?

but has never played a single snap in a game so we don't know if he can be really a starter for us. and we can't rely only on Hines for the RG spot if we move onwenu. some iol veteran for RG would be necessary in this scenario,´or in any other scenario as well because our back ups this season were worth nothing
Guess what? NONE of the the Draft picks have played a single snap either. That's the same EVERY year. None of the guys people are talking about signing have played in the Pats offense.

Hines will be starting off at the same spot as Steuber, every draft pick and every FA O-line signing the Pats make.

I hate that bill is just deflecting blame all day In his conference. Hiring judge/Patricia is what he thought was best for the team, we spent the least cash in 3 years (kind of a shot at Kraft).

No responsibility taken... Hopefully behind the scenes he doesn't feel this way.

Bill didn't deflect blame. You and many others like you failed to pay attention to the wording of the questions instead of the answers given.

When someone says "I'm going to do what's best for the team" that's taking the blame.
Kiss the asses of people like the POS mediots like Curran and Shaughnessy isn't what BB does. I would have thought you'd know that by now.

Belichick has ALWAYS taken the blame for this team's losses. Regardless of whether it was a player or his f' up. So tired of spoiled idjits whose arrogance allow them to think that their 30 years of sitting on their arses watching games makes them smarter than a 50 year coach who's got 8 Championships and coached in the SB 12 times.

Not all with the Pats. But still losing seasons.
His stint with Cleveland doesn't mean anything. People thinking it does don't understand that game or the situation he found himself in.

Go make a different thread if you wanna yap about that dumb BS.

It absolutely does. Just like Jordan's stint with the White Sox and the Wizards.

Using that "logic", even without the blatantly dishonest attempt to pump up BB's ring numbers, Robert Horry is one of the 9 greatest players in NBA history, better than the likes of Kareem, Jordan, Cousy, Magic, Bird, Duncan, Kobe, etc....

It is clear they worked on some new blocking schemes and play designs or why do you think they o line suddenly played worse than last year ? Individually brown Wynn etc performed worse than last year

JC had a first round pick on everyone's board from a talent standpoint. And simultaneously they had him as undraftable because of his character concerns. No luck there, it's just like FA money talks.

Yes it appeared as though they tried to force a change which set everything back. Also tried to get Mac throwing jump balls. Brown had huge performance issues at the Raiders, so the reason Brown was bad could be attitude and conditioning. Wynn has never been a pure football guy, and again attitude could have finally blown up. The scheme emphasis over the Summer might have been frustrating, but I think Brown and Wynn's decline were more attitude and conditioning issues.

Wynn played LT last year and Brown played RT. The left side is where Wynn has played his entire career until this year. Evan Lazar pointed out all year long that Wynn technique was in shambles and had trouble to adjust to the right side. Someone could argue than switching those position between Wynn and Brown wasn’t a good idea.

I know it’s PFF but it’s just to give an idea of the performance. Last year Wynn grade at LT was 74.9. Not world beater but decent. This year it was 54.6

Brown grade last year at RT was 79.3 and this year it was 67.4

Taking into account that RT are usually less paid than LT there is a component added that a guy like Wynn in the last year of his deal could think the move was also made with the vision of diminishing his value and for a guy like Brown you paid him like a RT and now you asking him to play LT.

My opinion is based on last year I don’t think switching them was necessarily the best move for the OL.

Agreed. But if their attitude and conditioning were off, the PFF numbers would drop too.

Let Wynn go. Brown, McDermott and Cajuste can battle for a backup spot. Draft two OTs. Maybe we get really lucky and Steuber can play right tackle. Steuber has an advantage over two new draft picks because he can participate in the whole off-season program.
