Tomlin never had a losing season in 16 years with Pittsburgh. Just saying. Bill had two in the last 3 years
Yet missed the play-offs 6 times.

BB has missed the play-offs..... 5 times. with 9 super bowl trips and 6 rings.

McVay : boy Genius. I don’t think posters here understand how many losing seasons ‘better than BB coaches’ have… Payton went 7-9 two years in a row with Brees ? Tomlin « always makes the playoffs » : one SB trophy. List goes on.
Payton has a .631 winning % (tied w/ Curly Lambeau), right behind Tomlin (.636). Not sure why people have this need to disparage good coaches just because they weren't lucky enough to have the GOAT for 20 years.

I mean Tomlin has a .636 winning % which puts him 7 places behind Bill (#15) all time. If you only include coaches w/ >100 games, he's only behind Bill (.662), Seifert (.648), and Reid (.641). He's also only 50 years old. He's another coach that could catch Bill in wins.

Hes good, never said he wasn’t. Just pointing out the original point that if people are this unhappy with bb after 3 years of mediocrity during a full blown rebuild, what would they do after 12 years with 1 afcc appearance where we got blown out. Or would we actually be satisfied Just because he went 8-8 a few times instead of 7-9

Belichick - 329-165 (31-13 playoffs)
Tomlin - 171-102-2 (8-9 playoffs)

the part irritating here for me is why bill thought the hiring of patricia and judge in charge of the offense was really the best available option

It's such a bad decision because Both their former Teams made the Playoffs. Putting square pegs in round holes. I hope this bad decision humbles BB. Talk about arrogance.

I'm just talking about the fact that they decided to put him at LT. That's what I was responding to. The poster I responded to made it seem like it was a wacky decision coming out of left field.

I understand, now, what you're talking about. And the poster you responded to had a point.

It had been 4 years since Brown played LT for the Pats. He'd been at RT with the Raiders where he actually got a ProBowl nod in 2019. .
Wynn had never played the right side of the O-line before 2022. Not in College. Not for the Pats. So what made coaches think that moving Wynn to RT would work? To many people, it came across as down-grading the RT position. We've heard from many an OL that there many differences when you switch sides like that. And some players can't do it.

It also seems like a foolish move from a potential compensation standpoint. Wynn has made it clear he didn't want to stay, yet the Patriots failed to move him in 2021 when they could have gotten a 2nd or 3rd for him. Now, they'll be lucky got get a 5th round comp for him. So, they hurt themselves on the field as well as in the future.

Tomlin - 171-102-2 (8-9 playoffs)
Bill - 450 games
Tomlin - 258 games

That's why you need to use win %.

The problem was moving Wynn over.

But the poster was specifically referring to Brown.

I can't believe there is a BB v Tomlin debate.

You pro-Tomlin's are out of your tree. The BB hate has clouded your logic
Pro-Tomlin? No man, he's a good coach. He knows how to win. It's ok to acknowledge that. Nobody is saying he's better than BB. He's also 20 years younger. Give him an elite QB for 20 years, I'm sure he can win a few more SBs. Not that I want that to happen. It's actually a bit frustrating that we're tied w/ Pittsburg at 6.

I think you misunderstood. It was a comparison. The posters have been hating on BB. But many don’t bother to see that many of the top coaches have had ‘bad seasons’.

It wasn't 20 years but he did have an elite QB. And once Cohwer wore off he wasted the rest of his elite years.

They haven't been awful like some of the prior ones but Cole Strange in the 1st and Ty Thornton in the 2nd are not looking like good picks so far.
Strange will be fine and and Thorton was hurt, missed 1/2 the year and was in a ****ty offense

I'm not saying Uche and Wise turned a corner and have made great careers but most fans were calling them busts even as late as this past summer.
