Let's have one thread for Damar's condition. Let's try to keep this on his condition so folks have a one stop shopping place to go.

@Ian nice job on the merge

If it were quantity of prayers and well-wishes that determined these outcome, he'd be in the clear... and he's got mine.

Here's hoping he fully recovers, for football if he wants but also for LIFE, which goes on long after (if you are lucky)

Not having experienced a heart attack or having been old enough to understand what happened to my grandparents when they had theirs 30 some years ago, is it normal for there to have been no update on a patients condition after 12+ hours for something like this?

I know there was one that supposedly game from his Local Marketing guy last night, but then we had reports from the team and the NFL contradicting that.

Please keep this thread to only posting news about his condition. We're not debating cause, etc. This is simply a place for people to be able to check in to get the latest on his health.

Good recap of everything that happened on the field and prognosis.

They'll be updating family. The family may have told them they don't want it to be public

I had a friend put in a medically induced coma after suffering a heart attack. It was more than 24 hrs later that we got the first updates from the medical staff.

Per Chao, a day or two before his breathing tube is removed.

One of the most eerie things I have ever seen in a football game. Seeing the player's faces and hearing that the medical staff was administering CPR was chilling. Crazy the league was going to give them 5 minutes to warm up then go back out there with one of their teammates/opponents life hanging in the balance. The greed of this league knows no bounds.

Nobody knows where the directive on "5 minutes" came from. I am no Goodell or NYJ-FL fan, but logically, it did not come from NY, that quickly. More likely a bad decision by an on-field ref not grasping the seriousness of the issue and treating it like any other cart-off injury.

Yeah, don't think we'll hear any updates til the end of this week. I was just reading up on Kevin Everett, the Bills tight end who was nearly paralyzed a few years ago, and it was days until he was taken off a respirator when he suffered his injury. Scary.

"I can’t speak specifically on his medical condition,” Rooney told Robin Roberts. “I will say that he’s fighting, he’s a fighter. . . . The family is in good spirits. We’re honestly just taking it minute by minute, hour by hour.”
