Mac being labeled dirty

Multiple national shows on ESPN and Fox today talking about this (not his or Pats play) with everyone of them labeling Mac a dirty player. Every show had a former player labeling the play and Mac dirty and said retaliation is a real thing.

That basically cements his reputation at least until he proves otherwise. Perception once set is very hard to change.

Sure, the kick to the Bear's players balls was dirty - (even if he had the precise skill to land that kick exactly in the spot)
But, overall, he's exerting the little bit of extra vengeance against guys that pound him all day when he slides.
I wish he would have been "dirty" to Chandler when he could have saved the loss against the Raiders.

The Refs could have still have awarded the Raiders the TD for a cheap shot.

Its rare to see, but nothing surprises me anymore.

I don't even mind the way he left that game; it's his continuous failure to be physical or even try to be when the time Really calls for him to be physical that pisses me off about him.

I wish that he would make 50% of the pass plays that are there to be executed. Sometimes the defense wins the down and other times the offense has the right play called. Convert those plays.

Not really. Did you ever play? Getting taken out unexpectedly at the knees like that is a dirty play. Mac Jones is a dirty player.

Eli Apple was far enough not to expect it, either.

Players around the league are taking notice. Will the league office once its common knowledge of a bounty to hurt the Patriots QB? I doubt it judging by the bad calls going against the Patriots.

He prevented Eli Apple from making the tackle on his teammate. That play was dirty and stupid.

I think a lot of QB were taught to take someone down by taking out the ankles….Mac was a little high on the hit here….but you are right Brady, Rodgers and many QB have been doing this move for years until made illegal

This isn't true. Mac cuts down a player who's going to be of no consequence to the outcome of the play. It was unnecessary and dirty. Show me one time Brady or Rodgers has pulled a stunt like that in their careers.

The other one I saw was Ryan Clark, guy was a ****bag headhunter. No room to talk.

When the NYFL tried to limit those cheap head shots the most vocal team against it was the Steelers. The players and head coach whined about it constantly. It's ironic that the victim of that type of hit, Ryan Shazier, was a Steeler making a tackle.

That Welker play is almost identical to the Tatum hit that ended Darryl Stingley's career and eventually his life. The ball was not anywhere near Welker and Clark launched into him the same way. Until the NYFL starts to severely punish players for those type of hits they will continue.

I don't disagree with many of your takes but this is one of them.

Clark, like Tatum, knew that the ball was gone and had plenty of time. Clark, like Tatum, also had the opportunity to avoid going for the head even if it was caught. Both of them knowingly went for the cheap head shot.
