We always get a little more positive here before an upcoming game. Then on game day every player sucks, every coach sucks, every play sucks whenever something doesn't go our way. Hell, during the dynasty it was the same thing. The problem now is some of it unfortunately is true now more than it was before. When you add in the 20 year run we had then when it goes away its a shock to the system. We have to accept the new normal and curb our expectations. We'll get there but we don't have what we need to do that right now.

Nonsense. The team is 7-7, not "in the bottom of the league" and technically still in the playoff hunt. The coaching situation is bad but will get corrected. And you have no basis for saying BB "might be getting dementia." Judging by this post you might be more at risk.

Yes the team is not the world beaters we have been but the team is still about above average and not the worst team like a lot of people seem to think

The point here is that….for 19 years ….this team was a Dynasty and the team every other team wanted to “replicate” and learn from….and to beat the Patriots was a badge of honor ….or for many teams ….their Super Bowl. Then Tom Brady left. Bill Belichick has been a bit exposed once Tom left town if we are being honest. Bill’s decision making since that time has been EXPOSED. Sticking with Cam the Sham Newton all season despite EVERYONE knowing that Cam was done…was Part 1. It has gone extremely downhill this year with his “outthinking” the room again (See Cam Newton horribly failed experiment)…..by turning over the offensive playcalling to a marginal DC…..and Failed HC Fatt Matt Patricia and his water boy ….failed HC Joe Judge. Abysmal Failure by BB. So, getting back to your topic…..When times were great and Tom Brady, the GOAT was covering up a lot of BB’s warts (ie bad drafting, FA acquisitions, and arrogant and poor coaching decisions)….and WINNING SB’s……Almost EVERY FAN is gonna be POSITIVE minded and thinking that this team can DO ANYTHING…..or Beat Anyone. Why!? Tom Brady gave this team a giant set of balls and CONFIDENCE !!! And again….when times are good ……AND EVERYONE is positive and expecting Miracles….

Now this team and its coaching staff is a DUMPSTER fire…..led by BB…..who again has been exposed as a slightly above average coach….So fans understandably are PISSED and negative! …..What have YOU done for ME TODAY?????……Not YESTERDAY!!!! I'll have a go....

We have the 5th best point differential in the AFC - an indication we aren't as bad as people think.

Despite everyone saying the team is terrible, with no talent and bad coaching, it's still 7-7, and without the last second meltdown yesterday, would still have had the inside track for a playoff spot.

We are actually seeing some young guys emerge, particularly on defence - Barmore, Uche, Dugger, Marcus and Jack Jones are good young players to build around. The D has also genuinely been one of the best in the league.

The problems on O are easily fixable with some investments on the o-line and getting in a proper offensive coordinator. That is in Belichick's. gift to easily give. Even an average offense with our current D would be comfortably in the playoffs.

We have significant cap space going into 2023 and likely a higher pick than normal in the draft (plus a few extras) to invest.

We still have the best coach in the NFL despite people's frustrations with Bill.

You are right …there are some positives on this team that you noted….a lot of holes to fill too in the FA and draft…..and coaching staff honestly too

There's a lot of talent and potential on this team.

I'd love for Bill to own it, say "I'm sorry guys, but let's do this thing now the rest of the way!" and commit to the run and quit with the rinky dink finesse junk in the red zone. They can insert Zappe just when they're within the 15-yard line; the kid's proven he can thread the needle and get it to the open guy.

Zappe would have orchestrated a lot more TDs ….pretty confident about that
