Jeff Howe on Brady to the Patriots next season

Whole idea seems ridiculous... Belichick didn't want to give him a 2 year deal at 42 years old, hes not going to give him one at 46
That was before when Bill believed he could win with any qb. I think he realized now that Brady is his best bet to win one before he retires.

And Santa Claus will be coming to town in 3 weeks as well…

I'm so excited by this (obviously) very real possibility that I Photoshopped Brady into a Patriots uniform so we can all dream about what it might look like.

First time doing this so constructive criticism only please.

There's no chance this happens. They just used a high draft pick on Jones and Brady won't take direction from Fat Matt.

Brady could win with this offense. The WRs aren't bad... Parker, Meyers, Bourne and Agholor are a decent group. Henry is a competent TE1. Stevenson is ready for an all-purpose RB1 breakout season (he's a pro bowl type looking RB). O-line needs to improve and they would need to replace the OC with whomever Brady chooses. The team currently, if moving forward with Mac Jones, isn't going to be competitive in the division. Josh Allen is just so much better and now Jones is even clearly only the third best QB in the division (behind Tua as well). Brady would put the Patriots back into the discussion.

the Bucs are much better talent-wise than NE and he only has his team 5-6, so no…

And Belichick is not going to make it look like he made a mistake for not trying to keep Brady three years ago.
The team’s performance already does a good enough job proving that.

Honestly, I think Brady would take Patricia and Bill 100% over Bowles and Leftwich right now.

No they're not. You clearly don't actually pay attention to what's going on, on the field. You just impulsively criticize Brady.

Bucs o-line has been mess with injuries and poor play all season.
WRs have been a mess with injuries and poor play all season.
Mike Evans has sucked this season. Like really awful.
Literally the worst running game in the NFL. Stevenson is a massive upgrade over any RB on the Bucs roster.
Defenses are similar... that's probably a wash.
I'm not an IBWTer but Belichick is lightyears better than Bowles as a head coach. Bowles is literally losing games from the sideline... he's been that dreadfully bad.

Brady has not been the problem in Tampa Bay this season. And Brady is a much better quarterback than Jones. So Brady obviously would give the Patriots a much better chance of winning.

Bill, yes... that's obvious. Leftwich's play-calling has been mind-numbingly bad this season but there's still no way Patricia would be preferable. Whatever happens heading into 2023 with Brady, he almost definitely will not be collaborating with Leftwich or Patricia.

They are both bad but I saw more creative play from Patricia than from Leftwich. And Patricia would at the very least use play action more often.

YOu have no idea what you're talking about. Brady is the least sacked QB in the NFL this season. Wirfs, Mason, and Smith are better than what we have. Evans has more yards than our best WR, Jakobi myers. Godwin neearly has 600 yards. Our second best WR is Parker. So no, the talent level on the Pats offense is no where near as good as the Bucs. Meanwhile, Mac has a former DC as his OC, while Leftwich has two years working with Brady as OC

I would love to see Matt P and Joe Judge coach up Brady's potential.

Brady as a player/coach? Sign me up. Instant upgrade over Patricia and Judge.

Whatever passing game statistics you want to throw at me, you have to put them in the context of the different quarterbacks, and their respective impact on the entire operation. Brady is still good enough to get something out of nothing, or more from less, whereas Jones doesn't have that capacity.

Regarding some of the specifics you're commenting on... Wirfs is injured and Donovan Smith has not been good this season. Patriots o-line isn't any good either... neither unit is a strength. The Bucs WRs have been banged up the entire season... Gage and Julio Jones especially. Godwin so far has little explosiveness or lateral movement coming back from the ACL. Evans very noticeably is taking multiple plays off during games... pretty much everyone is seeing it. Again, I like the Patriots WR room. I look at that group, which has been healthy, and I think Brady could be productive with them. And with the Patriots, Brady would have the advantage of a much better running game, which also would open up the play-action, something that has been severely lacking in Tampa Bay this season.

We're not talking about the Bucs here. Let's get back to the original conversation please. This is a warning.

Don't bother. He is trolling.

I have no problem with keeping the Bucs discussions in the Brady forum. However, you're warning me but if you watch the progression of the interaction I only commented on Brady theoretically become the quarterback of the Patriots. MAC10 brought in the bit about the Bucs. I merely replied to his comment. But at this point I will proceed in accordance with your directive.
