Look at least he didn't pull a Zach Wilson and throw his team under the bus. He has my respect for that response to the media. But hell he looked AWFUL out there today!

I just want to see what this team looks like without the worst offensive coaching combo in football - Matt Patricia and Joe Judge are GARBAGE and should be jettisoned or at the very least DEMOTED to assignments they can handle.

I'm also really curious to see if Zappe can at least generate some offense out there when it's obvious that an IMMOBILE QB like Mac Jones just isn't cutting it this year!

LT and RT and both a priority in the off season.
Yep. And when Ekuale and Godchaux were the DTs, they were manhandled.

Lawrence Guy is great. But reaching the end of his career. Barmore has been injured. We need more D line depth.

And our line backing corps is the weakest group I can remember.

Lots of talent deficits to the top AFC teams.

Does Zappe have better pocket mobility and awareness than Mac? Rhetorical question. Yes, he does. Therefore, he likely would have been better than 10 points tonight.

Mac is fine when everything is perfect around him.
I watched a fair amount of games last weekend. I don't recall seeing the left tackle fall down multiple times in a game, or that many guys getting through. I think there's more to it and there's a good chance Zappe would - and did, if I recall - have a hard time with that.

Back up runs at 12:15am - it's normally 1:15am but it didn't adjust with the time change. Sorry about that.

Listen if you are going to use arguably the two worst teams on our schedule to say Zappe is better, then you need to also use the game where it's easiest to compare him to Mac and he played bad. Mac playing well against the Vikings in a losing effort was more impressive than absolutely anything Zappe did this year.
No, no, no. I am not saying that Zappe is the man because of those 2 games. I am simply saying that the tired, lazy "but the Bears 2nd half" to prove that Zappe can't do it is garbage.

Zappe might end up sucking too. But he has had two shots with all practice reps. And he performed. And even that bad 3 quarters against the Bears produced more points than tonight against a beat up Bills D.

Our OL sucked tonight, and most of the season.

Who is better equipped to move in the pocket and be a little elusive? It's ok. Even if you think Mac is a better QB, we all can admit Zappe has shown a better ability to avoid a pass rusher.

I believe Zappe has better tools to do something behind a bad OL.

Like I said, if they drop a couple of more games, we may likely see him. And I'll likely say the same thing about it not being his fault when he's battling against poor personnel and inconsistent playcalling.

You are dead to me. ;)

Bourne’s comments, plus Mac’s sideline antics make it seem like BB is losing/has lost the offensive team.

Can’t recall players openly criticizing coaching…ever.

They are correct, but still odd to see.

I wonder if any of these players are embarrassed by this game. They were so non competitive at home its amazing.

Clearly, that's not Mac's forte. But truthfully, if that's what we're going to have to rely on moving forward regardless of who's starting, that's not sustainable. Zappe could very well make a play here and there, but asking any QB to have to do it for sixty minutes is just insane and they're not going to end up back in the upper echelon of NFL teams until they fix it.

Decided to finally see the new Indy trailer hoping it would cheer me up a bit after watching this sh*t storm.

Didn't work

I keep thinking back to Tom Brady’s dad saying about him leaving someday “it will end badly”.

I didn’t realize that would likely also be true for BB’s tenure.

I actually was thinking about it earlier today and was going to submit a ticket to fix it but I obviously got sidetracked. Stupid. I'll get it moved ahead of the next one.

But that is not enough in the NFL..so many other things factor into whether a QB can hack it.
Matt Leinart also had an amazing game against a great bears defense on national tv once. He now does TV for college footballl. You also have to factor in the coaching staff although looking pretty clueless out there, sees Zappe and Mac everyday in practice. So do the players, We haven't heard any player mention given Zappe a turn. Zappe playing against the bears in backup duty is a lot different than playing a team that has scouted you all week long like what starting QBs have to face every sunday in the NFL. Whole different ball game when they know you from top to bottom.

I wonder where this team's focus is. You lost a game last week, season on the line and you miss a handoff on 3rd and inches on the first drive ? This team has no offensive leaders to lit a fire and the scheme and playcalling only makes them have more doubt in themselves.
God they were awful tonite.
