I keep seeing that posters have quoted one of my posts only to go to it and see that it was someone else's post being quoted.

Is this obstructed?

When two angles show completely different results how can one be right and the other be wrong?

By definition that is not irrefutable because something is refuting your interpretation.

The prudent thing to do was to allow the call on the field to stand.
I keep seeing still shots of this front both angles, when the ball isn't touching the ground YET. As it plays out from the reverse angle I can clearly see images of the ball touching the ground, meaning Henry's hand isn't between the ball and the ground. He subsequently loses control of the ball "while attempting to complete the catch." That's called an incompletion.

Had Henry just secured the catch without the reach, he probably scores anyway, or worse case they're at the half yard line.

The ST gaffes had a bigger impact on the outcome of the game.

And look, as good as the Patriots offense looked for the majority of the first 3 quarters (against a really bad defense), they came up with 0 points in the 4th quarter (including two 3-and-outs). 0-3 in the red zone. 3-10 on 3rd downs. Ultimately not good enough against a bad defense.

Going into the game, the Vikings defense was 18th ranked by DVOA. Average, not "really bad". I'm sure they'll drop next week because they had trouble with the 26th ranked Patriots offense, but they're not awful.

No it is not an incompletion. It is a catch. You believe the surviving the ground rule still exists. It does not. Read the rule.

A forward pass is complete (by the offense) or intercepted (by the defense) in the field of play, at the sideline, or in the end zone if a player, who is inbounds:
(a) secures control of the ball in his hands or arms prior to the ball touching the ground, and
(b) touches the ground inbounds with both feet or with any part of his body other than his hands, and
(c) after (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, performs any act common to the game (e.g., tuck the ball away, extend it forward, take an additional step, turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent), or he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so.
The rule book adds that "movement of the ball does not automatically result in loss of control."

He did secure it. HH did everything necessary to complete the catch.

Watch the replay again with the rule as context.

18th is below average and that ranking will be worse by the end of the day.

They have literally the worst pass defense in the NFL. They have multiple one score wins against unimpressive opponents. They probably will get a mediocre wild card opponent which will spare them a one-and-done but good luck with the 49ers or Bucs in the divisional.

You left out this note:

If a player, who satisfied (a) and (b), but has not satisfied (c), contacts the ground and loses control of the ball, it is an incomplete pass if the ball hits the ground before he regains control, or if he regains control out of bounds.

The ball hit the ground, he lost control of the ball, and only regained control of the ball after criteria for an incompletion (above) was met.

Perhaps Mac could be playing better but it’s no excuse for a patriots fan to be rooting against him. Every patriots fan should be cheering for Belichick, the coaching staff, and the players to do well.
Nobody is hoping that the Patriots to lose.

All that nonsense is what the Mac club accuse anyone not smoking the crack pipe.

Kind of glad personally the D kind of played the way they did.. as judon said they want to get that bad taste out thier mouth.. hope that starts with forcing an actual punt this time!
Yes, as long as peppers continues to play over myles Bryant then we are in good shape.. talk about a guy that's an error repeater.. I know BB loves hard working players not saying Bryant doesn't... but he just continues to make foolish plays week in and out.. I believe your reply got cut off..

19 QBs drafted in the last 2 drafts and only 2 have winning records. I leave out who those 2 are as the point of me posting this is that winning with young QBs in this league is very difficult.

That's in the notes, not the rule. It’s not necessary to go there, so no one should.

Part C of the rule says: “c. after (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, performs any act common to the game (e.g., tuck the ball away, extend it forward, take an additional step, turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent), or he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so.”

Henry had already caught the pass with his hands, hit the ground with his body and extended the ball across the goal line. By extending he made a football move, which satisfies part C of the rule. That meets all the criteria for a reception under the rule.

NFL New York blew the call.

It wasn't enough to overturn. Plain and simple. A horrible call by a horrible officiating crew. If this happened to Tampa, you'd be complaining for a year. Let's move on.

He never lost control of the ball, genius

So why was it ruled an incompletion, genius?

It shouldn't have been...even if the player bobbles it a little it won't make a difference. or did you miss the Super Bowl vs the Eagles (the second one, when Tommy fumbled the game away)?

I guess the membership here at PatsFans.com knows more about what's a catch than the officiating headquarters of the NFL.

Wether you think the call was incomplete or not did you read the quotes from the officials referencing obsolete rules? Doesn't bode well for the headquarters and knowledgeable.
