Tyquan Thornton

Let's See B4 folks discount him.
He has RIDICULOUS SPEED.
1 GAME means nada, but we obviously had confidence in the Jet sweep, how often do Pats do THAT?

Thornton is going to be used like how San Fran uses Deebo.
Deebo shouldn't even be used like that. He backed off saying he didn't want to be used like a running back and they are doing the same thing with him. It's going to run him down and cut his career short.

Well so far he seems to be non existent. Is it on the playcalling or trust issues or simply the player is not getting open?

So far strange,Marcus, jack J , schooler and Zappe have outshone him and we traded up to get him in second round.

I sincerely hope he is not yet another whiff at wr position. Even Meyers had something to show in rookie season . Thornton being totally absent has me worried.

Tyquan Thornton’s game speed actually looks faster than his 40 time which is scary

The offense has needed an explosive fast athlete for years and I think we found one folks.

Our other wide receivers are good role players but none of them can do what Thornton can.
Thornton has by far the worst catch% (47.6%) of any targeted player on the roster. He has 13 targets in the last 4 games with 1 reception in each (that's 30%). He's a zero impact player to this point.

They seem content to use him as a decoy. But his effectiveness at that is dependent on the perceived threat. The few times they've tried to establish him as a threat it hasn't worked out. Until he starts burning Ds his value even as a decoy is diminishing. I hope that with Mac seeming to start sorting himself out a bit that TT can be dialed up some. He was really fun to watch in college; I'd like to see him replicate that at this level.

Strange has had his share of bad play too. Marcus Jones and Jack Jones are sustaining this draft class value. I suppose we can't draw any conclusions on Thornton yet but he looks like another really bad WR pick at this point.

Thornton needs to be dialed down. A 30% catch percentage isn't fun. Thornton should be losing opportunities to Bourne.

He did Thursday but I think it was to Agholars benefit.
I'm holding off until next year to get overly critical but what concerns me was he flashed a little in his first game or two and very little if anything since.

Weren't Alec pierce , Romeo doubs more touted than Thornton. Pickens is also a stud sans his behavioral issues .

Watson is tearing it up for GB and the first rounders are great as well .

Kraft needs to ask more questions about wide receiver scouting. Looking at how WR elevate QB play ( Allen, tua, Burrow, tannehill ) , maybe it's time to start scouting more rigorously and in ets more draft picks there.

As for OLine play , I am thinking very few are able to come in as rookies and perform . So maybe invest m
ore high WR picks and OLine in middle rounds there . Sign multiple middle tier FA tackles at 6-9 million.

Priority for next year
1. Safety
2. WR
3. OT
4. LB

Pay Meyers and J Jones to maintain continuity else we might have even more holes to fill via draft . I am not confident in our ability to sign free agents 2ho can immediately contribute .

Judon was a pro bowlers we got lucky.

We paid most for H Henry and Jonnu and in totality that's a miss.

Bourne is the only true solid home run free agency signing that we are wasting due to beef with Patricia.

Cut Thornton and agholor snaps and give it to Bourne.

But still performing on par with draft status at a very difficult position.

WR is the easiest position for a rookie outside of RB and Thornton is slaying it the wrong way.

For now it's disappointing. It's early but considering our past history in drafting , looks like we need to roll dice again. If I am Kraft I would be furious with the scouting team.

200-300 yards is where I thought he would be and it’s still doable. Struggles on offense and a shoulder injury (IR) contributed to low output.

His lack of production is alarming. This is a plug and play league.

IMO out of 32 teams in the NFL…the Patriots are last in a “plug and play” offense. Probably the case with defense as well.

Complexity and timing has always been a big BB trait especially on offense.

I do not think Mac trusts him yet. Unless he gets sone deep targets and makes a handful of catches he is useless as a decoy
