Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Jets

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

How on earth can some people not see how terrible Mac Jones is?

We are in trouble because this team does not have a QB.

If Mac actually had a real full offseason with real coaches to build off of what he did well last season and to improve on what he struggled with I would wager he would be a lot better. Probably not amazing, but good. Not this clown show.

Just STFU, you are pathetic. The PATRIOTS won today, try to enjoy that for a few hours at least.

Based on point differentials patriots are 7th in league . Leave apart bears game all other games were super close .

Buffalo is leading right now along with cowboys eagles and chiefs .

Us, Bengals and ravens are next in line.

So with such a shoddy line and Offensive performance we are still leading the pack.

Let's just put on some optimism that and hope lady luck smiles on our OLine and offense as a whole . Who knows we become more hot in the last stretch .

Nah the thing is we know what is baked into passer rating unlike QBR. Therefore we know the context of passer rating and some of the obvious flaws baked in. While QBR is more subjective.

Passer ratings' issues are that it is heavily reliant on completions (regardless of whether they were contextually good or not) and it would rather you take a sack than throw a ball away even if the situation merits the latter.

QBR will sometimes say a great game by a QB was bad or that a mid game was the greatest game ever recorded. And they constantly tweak the formula. I'm actually convinced QBR was invented by ESPN so they could make Tim Tebow look good.
I thought ESPN came up with QBR to make themselves look smart and hoped the NFL community would embrace the rating. Of course QBR is junk, which is what you expect from ESPN.

I did predict that the Patriots would win this game 22-16... but I GROSSLY OVERRATED our offense! Only THREE points by the offense? And our 'offense' being the strong leg of Nick Folk? OOF. We needed a special teams last second punt return play to score a touchdown and get the win.

Can we get a REAL OC please? This is getting painful to watch.

We're finally going to see if the posters dunking on Kirk Cousins are right or if he will outduel Mac Jones next week. Right now I find it very hard to back MJ10 with any confidence considering his woeful performance this whole season.

We might have a defense playing at the top of their game right now, but I have ZERO confidence in our offense playing catchup if we ever fall behind early. If we get behind by 2 scores, it's pretty much over.

They have Mac on a leash again, depending on D to keep it close, maybe planning to open up offense more in late season/playoffs.

Did you see Mac Jones' QB rating in the last three games. Its a trend.

1. NY Jets QB Rating 80
2. Ind. Colts QB Rating 89
3. NY Jets QB Rating 105

Corky ****ing Sucks, as does now 4/5ths of his offensive OL, his QB coach & his OL coach/play-caller... Plus he's a gutless ****ing b!tch too.

the people excusing Mac's play due to inept offensive coaches this year...what about end of last year? his suckiness trend did not start week 1 this year, it started like week 12 last year

As horrible as that entire game was. That PR made it all worthwhile.

A lot to be frustrated with, but a win is always a win. Especially when it means you sweep the Jets.
As soon as Jones went by the first Jet player I started to laugh and kept laughing harder as he went. Same old Jets. The only thing that took away from my laughter was the incredibly stupid penalty as Jones was going into the end zone. That was a block in the back and could have easily been called. The Pats probably still would have won 6-3 but the non-call helped everyone who bet the Pats.

Don't you know? Every team the Pats are about to play will be a serious challenge and tough to beat, and then if the Pats beat them, they were actually just tomato can fraudsters who could be beaten by the local high school team, and the Pats shouldn't be given any credit - really, they should be chastised for not winning by more.
I think this season has gone as we expected. The consensus was that they'd have a good defense with an offense that will improve. The only issue is that the offense hasn't improved as much as we expected.
