I'm not as current on the rest of the NFL as I used to be. How big of a deal is this? Do the Jets have decent OL depth?
Pretty big deal. They’re weren’t very good to begin with, now they’re potentially worse. They just signed OL Laurent Duvernay Tardif as a depth signing.

So theyre trotting out the same , if not worse, version of last meetings team. While we are adding barmore, dugger, andrews , and likely parker. Possibly missing j jones. Thats a major upgrade for us from last game
I think Dugger played last time (could be wrong) but if he did it was very limited. Parker will be nice to have as well since it seems like he and Jakobi are the only guys on the same page with Mac. Gardner is good but can only cover one of them.

Andrews back is huge since he’s the foundation of the OL, Mac should be a bit more comfortable in the pocket.

Barmore is the MOST huge though. Judon and Uche absolutely feasted on the Jets OL without him last time. Now you add Barmore up the middle, AND the Jets OL is missing guys? That sounds like disaster waiting to happen.

Dugger didn’t play, he got hurt in the chicago game and didn’t come back until indy. He may be as high as the 3rd most important guy in this defense so along with barmore these are monster additions for the defense.

I must’ve been thinking of the Indy game. His addition definitely will make a big impact, then, agreed.

Reporter: Zach, you were pretty emotional when you came off the field against them a couple of weeks ago. How do you put those emotions, keep those emotions out of the way this game?

Wilson: “Right, I thought they were good emotions. I mean I was frustrated and I still believe nobody outside of this building knows what they’re talking about.”

Reporter: Oh, well I do.

Wilson: “Yeah? Why’d you turn down a coaching position?”

Reporter: Who told you that? Are you in a good head space right now?

Wilson: “Yeah, great head space, we’re winning football games, we’re where we want to be, and there’s still so much to improve on, so from a team aspect, we’re excited with where we’re at, and it’s going to be a great challenge for us.”
I honestly don't think Zach Wilson has ever had an above average game. He went over 300 passing yards for the first time ever in that debacle against the Patriots in week 8. He had two 4th quarter TDs in an OT win against the Titans last year so I suppose you could qualify that as a quality start. He's never had more than 2 TDs in a game and in every game (only 4) that he's had 2 TDs he's also thrown at least 1 INT. He's really bad.

People get on the other NY quarterback, Daniel Jones, but even with a clown like Joe Judge messing him up for two seasons, DJ has had a much better start to his NFL career than Wilson.

Very curious about the reports of Wynn at LT. Is it possible that they used the bye week to rearrange the OL and put Wynn at LT? Brown to Wynn is a downgrade, but LT is Wynn’s only somewhat serviceable position. Brown can then go to RT and flip that from a chronic weakness to a huge strength. Andrews returns to help Strange understand his assignments and Onwenu is Onwenu.

Call me a homer, but it might not be a bad idea. It just depends how many times Wynn at LT screws up, but I would guess it’s probably overall less often than how many issues the rotating door at RT has given us.

Also allows you to run with power to the right behind Onwenu and Brown. Might this also be a wiser setup for RPO plays? Sending the runner to the right behind Brown while keeping Mac’s eyes and body aligned to the right will grant him a more favorable throwing platform if he chooses to keep the ball and throw it.

I'd be surprised at this point. I think they go Brown/Strange/Andrews/Onwenu/Cajuste

Possible they put Wynn back at RT if Cajuste struggles, but at this point, I think Wynn will be more of a 6th O-lineman until Cannon comes back.

another must win game. 5-4 after nine games and realistically can only lose three more games - one of them cannot be to the Jets, a team everyone on here thinks is an embarrassment of a franchise. Blow this one to Zach Wilson and this team needs to go 5-2 over their last 7 and they haven't finished strong in the final stanza in quite some time. It's going to be around 40 at the game with steady 10-15 mph winds and gusts to 30. Bill the Coach can't count on 5 Folk field goals in this game - let's get some touchdowns.

Need this one. Win it and we have the tiebreaker over the Jets which might be needed to make the playoffs. And for now at least the 2nd best intradivision record in the AFCE.

If Mac has to throw 3 times again to get a W then that’s what he should do.

If it's cold and legitimately windy then a few FGs might be enough to beat the Jets. Their offense is terrible to begin with. Breece Hall averaged 2 yards more per carry than their other RBs combined. Hall's done for the season. The Patriots aren't blowing a game opposite Zach Wilson. They would have to lose the turnover battle by more than 2 to 1 for the Jets to have a chance.

Good points. Wynn might be a downgrade at LT vs. Brown, but the potentially bigger upgrade at RT might be worth it. Plus Wynn has experience at LT and perhaps the switch will help re-set his attitude. One can hope.

Disagree - continuity is way more important, especially with the rookie to the LT's right and a very good Jets DL where the calls have to be on point first and the line having confidence on what the guy beside them is going to do. The time to make major OL switches, when NOT forced by injury, is camp.

I know we're down on Wynn, but he is better at RT than both Cannon and Cajuste.

I've gone over and over it, and they are both pretty bad (Cannon/Cajuste).

"everyone here" (at the website following the team that hates them most and has done for 50+ years) thinks the franchise is an embarassment. Okay. They're also, by our respective records, better than us right now.

One of our 3 remaining losses cannot be to them, that's fair -- although to be objective, you have to add "if we're going to make the playoffs this year." We might not!!! Wah. So not a bad point about the "must win" tag but it comes with asterisks. "Must win" unless someone else has an unexpected loss, or several someone elses, or unless we win a game we "should" lose. Etc. So to be accurate I'd say this game is one we should win and one where losing it would makes the playoffs much, much less likely. It's must-win-adjacent. Every game's critical until we're in, and that is unlikely to be before the final week.

Just to nitpick one more thing, how much of the season constitutes a stanza? Back in the 14-game season I guess a season was a sonnet. A Belichickian son-not might be the best representation of the 16-game season, 4 quatrains, with a turn in the 4th stanza with the rhyme scheme W/W/W/W, and 3 additional lines after the turn for a total of 19.
