State of the Board Discussion [Moved to Here]

Given the number of data posts I make on busy transaction/news days, that would be interesting...
Lol, barring anything crazy, it shouldn’t ever apply to you. We’re talking a handful of extreme cases, and again, it’s also not even something that’s in development at this time.

Board is fine people just need to man up and stop crying when there's disagreements. I've never used the ignore function ever before and never will. At the end of the day it's a football forum much more important things to worry about than someone trolling you on the internet

And when confronted what does he do? Drops the pretense of criticism and attacks the poster hoping to debate a topic... You should know this though you plagiarist you lol... (I don't believe that for a second, jic you had any doubt - I've read your stuff and seen your rankings too many times to believe that garbage accusation)
This is true. I don't want to get into everything bc others are touching on it just fine but one problem we have here is posters not being able to defend there position, sticking their fingers in their ear and then resorting to nonsense. Specifically regarding that poster, like many their post speak for themselves. He looks like a spaz that's had a few too many - there's no other way to describe him. I couldn't imagine anyone saying I plagirise anyone when if you've read my opinions or actually looked at my grades. But he's a weirdo that makes stuff up like DKF. That company speaks for itself.

Also I'm pretty upfront a lot for than most. Since I've been here I've been nothing but honest about how I grade - short area drills and jumps > everything else. Production matters. Traits that translate. Size matters. Also I have rough grades in May/July that hold up in April.

In general I think as long as people stay on topic / don't derail threads, attack the post not the poster and generally just talk football you shouldn't have a problem if you're adult.

Speaking of "the state of the board", does anyone know what's going on with Patriots Planet?

@Ian just give me the keys to the kingdom for awhile and I'll fix all the issues. Once my reign, err work is sufficiently complete I promise I will give power back.

And while this another exquisite Pats Stooges episode sucked all the boards forces - there's a number 68 roaming around foxboro fields and locker rooms and nobody seems to ...

I so miss that guy.

Your analysis is a different kind of contribution altogether. For every poster with responses like you mention, there are dozens of us out here just sitting back and appreciating it. I wish you'd not even respond to those posts, or at least stop after it becomes clear what's up for them.

Clearly you put a ton of work into the player analysis. So when a player surprises, contrary to pre draft assessment, like Russey or Henry, that's just a sign of the unpredictability of all this, and part of what makes all this fun.

The pursuit of insight and foresight is the primary value in the board, to me, and sharing that with like-minded. Add in some shared celebration and commiserating, and it's soup. I'd rather not have any conversation about sports where anyone has to "defend their position."

These self-fashioned football "experts" are more invested in stoking their own egos and pushing agendas (usually anti-BB, anti-Kraft, etc.) vs. acknowledging positives. I had a bellyful of that nonsense last year, especially from the Buccaneers fan contingent that gleefully swoops in whenever the Pats, or especially our quarterback, are struggling. I'll never forget a certain "God of Wrath" insisting we Patriots fans "pump the breaks" on lauding Mac Jones when the kid showed early promise. Seems Mac apparently was undeserving, at least to some, since his initials weren't T.B. That stuff needs to end.

….and suddenly disappear from the main forum like a fart in the wind, when times are good for the Pats.

While I get what you’re saying, let’s say I did what you suggested and removed it. Am I supposed to delete every mention of Tom and ban anyone who likes him from now until he retires? Because that forum has spared the mods and I that need to this point.

But I kid…

Its Ian's call. He made the forum. I respect that.

Ian created the Tom Brady forum, which is fine. He did not create that insipid Buccaneers fan thread that unnecessarily chronicles every minor team maneuver unrelated to Brady directly.

Everyone wanted it to close once Brady fake retired you do know that right?
You do not have to venture there either yet you and a couple others love to lol. You're more Brady fan than me

I know it’s irritating, but test the blue mute button on the people in a given thread who are bugging you. That button is thread-specific, and it really does make a difference. Definitely among the few things feature-wise here that I’ve done in recent years that has ended up turning out better than I expected.
I have never been able to find this feature. I recall when it was announced.

I really don’t have that big of a problem with the board. Mainly here during draft season, regular/playoffs and occasionally check in a few times a week during the offseason.

As far as TB and the Bucs, I just figured it would slowly fade into oblivion as soon as the GOAT retires. Afterwards all those posters will stop living off former glory and either come back to the Pats or just leave all together. Some just do both Pats and Brady which is fine by me. Not gonna tell someone how to cheer on their sports teams and idols. Waste of breath and keystrokes.

And for those of you who are color blind Ian has circled the blue button which is next to the orange button with a red circle...
