I guess it is easier to construct rosters without STers. You have only Slater. Beliechick's total will likely be 3-7 for players who are primarily Sters.

In this situation, you have to strategically think who can make it to the practice squad without getting claimed. Between Lil Jordan and Asiasi, there's no question that Lil Jordan would be tougher to sneak through.

I think that Belichick has a different approach. If one player is more valuable than the other, he puts him on the 53. If the other players doesn't make the Practice Squad, so be it. I agree that it makes little sense to keep a lesser player on the 53 merely because someone else MIGHT make the Practice Squad.

I have a few guys that are special teamers and situational players - Slater, Schooler, Langi from the Pats Picker. The youthful linebacking crew is also a ST reservoir of players.

I can't see Hoyer going to another team at this point in his career. I wouldn't lose any sleep if he was cut and spent the rest of the season (and perhaps more) with the team in a advisory role.

I left Ekuale's roster spot open. This is the best time to try to get all our backup DT's on the Practice Squad (and activate one for Game Day).
As I said in my last post, Belichick usually has more STO's players than we do. I would expect/hope that these last three would get ZERO positional snaps, except perhaps in garbage time (same for Slater, Bethel and Davis).

Definitely: but having a serviceable TE doesn't telegraph the play as much and add some pass deception. Ok I'm trying to tell myself he's not that bad.

Because Asiasi is not that bad and in order to have a running game the TE has to block. But you never talk about running and blocking for some reason.

I am hoping that M Jones is the punt returner and they have not featured him yet because they are giving his shoulders as much time to heal as possible before he starts returning punts.

They have to pay out all of Hoyer’s guarantees including 2023. It's 1.76M to have him on the roster, 3M to cut him. It'd be 3M + vet min to cut him and re-sign him.

Silver lining of this game, nobody is gonna poach our players . We should be able to get back majority in PS.

Sam roberts, wade, asiasi , Tavai, jamarcus , Nixon , herron should be unclaimed in waivers and hence available for PS.
