Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

How do you think Belicheck got here?

He negotiated with Kraft while under contract with Jets, resigned and cost the Pats a 1st rd draft pick.

Go on, I'll be waiting for the bashing Bill
I hereby bash Bill for (presumably) negotiating while under contract.

Now, your turn to bash Brady.

Where does this ridiculous notion that Brady has “spent half his life away from family” come from? The dude plays football; he wasn’t deployed to the Middle East lol. He gets six months completely off per year and still probably spends more time with his family in the remaining six months than busy lawyers, doctors, or executives do.
Not ridiculous. 6 months almost totally away from family during camps, preseason and season. In the off season he trains and works out close to like the way we get up and go to work every day. Being "completely off" is the ridiculous notion. He's been pretty much "deployed" since high school. He's able to perform at MVP levels in his mid 40s for a reason and its not because he's a homebody. Like the busy lawyers, executives and doctors he's been married to his job. A couple weeks at the start off this season, after 21 of them was probably necessary for the sake of his family. There's been a lot of reporting for a good while about Giselle's discontent with Tom not retiring.

Rodgers dismissed the idea that his decision to skip the team’s organized team activities has had an effect on the receiving corps getting on the same page with him. He attended only the mandatory minicamp this offseason, giving him limited time with his new receivers before training camp started.

“You know, not really,” Rodgers said. “Training camp is a long experience. There’s plenty of time for conversations, for practice, for a lot of the things that expect them to do in the regular season.

I don't like the guy, but I don't see the issue with what he said.

It’s pretty simple in my mind. If you prove that you can keep winning championships regardless of what you do off the field then you can get away with doing most anything in your late 30s into your 40s. But look at his latest game where he scored all of 10 points and only threw balls at a now gone wide receiver and a running back. At home in the dreaded Green Bay cold as the 1 seed against a California team.

Amazing how this guy gets an eternal pass from everyone despite not making a Super Bowl in ELEVEN YEARS.

If Brady was doing what he’s doing but in a world where he hasn’t won a Super Bowl since 2011 he would get and deserve every measure of **** thrown at him.
Nobody care about OTAs except in NE

Going to the Bahamas in August when they just has time off from mid-January on seems a little over the top to me. I am wondering if other parts of the season may also get compromised. I guess we'll see. I mean Brady is 45 and can do whatever he wants but I would think he even would bristle at being away from camp in August.

I agree but if it's that or no season I would do it too. They could of scheduled this any other time but I guess maybe the whole point is to not lose the entire month of August to football. We can call her a ball buster, and it may be true, but we don't know what he promised her either. Lets also not pretend that she's living in hardships with the kind of resources available to them.

Yeah. It's strange to me that of all months, she would pick August to say let's go away. I mean he may have promised but even that seems strange. I really do wonder how things are going to work out for them when he signs a 2 year deal with Miami next season. LOL

Bowles said they'll see how practice goes this week before deciding whether to play Brady and other key starters Saturday in Indianapolis. They're weighing the benefit of him getting live-game snaps with a new center and a few key new targets vs. the small risk of any injury.

Brady looked like he’d never left at practice Monday. Came out in a ballcap and I wondered if he’d take it easy, but quickly got a helmet and went to work. If you just stopped by, you wouldn’t know he’d been gone 11 days.

Bucs have the NFL’s second-highest average ticket prices on the secondary market, behind only the Raiders,

Bucs receiver Breshad Perriman, out since the first week of camp with a hamstring, is back practicing today.

I don't bash anyone player or coach for negotiating while under contract.

Owners/ front office rarely uphold contracts. They have no issue firing, trading or cutting anyone if it's in their best interest, so I find no fault with a player or coach acting in their own interest as well.

Now if Brady had missed camp for the masked singer I would absolute bash him for that
