If youd read the rest of that article, or what the article referenced...Jeff Howes report. Which I can screenshot for you. States that there was no indication of guaranteed dollars in the 2nd year, which is why brady turned it down. Just like when Revis signed here for 2/32. How long did he play here and how much did he earn?

So again, I ponder why you would post this? Im sure you know how valuable guarantees are in the NFL contract...right?

You're nothing but a troll. Time to ignore you.

This is a high quality response from somebody that tried to use an article he didnt read as evidence. Sorry you engaged with somebody who knows the situation more than you.

Please read this and then go ponder why you're really posting here: Patriots reportedly tried to extend Tom Brady before 2019 season

“The Patriots offered him two years and $53 million in training camp in 2019, and Brady turned it down. He ultimately took what amounted be a raise of several million, and it gave him an out to leave the Patriots after the 2019 season.”

The Patriots tried to keep him but Tom wanted to leave. Look at his actions before he left. Look at how quickly he signed with a Florida team. He wanted to expand TB12 to Florida and he made the move.
The second year had no guarantees. It was a 1 year deal that they offered in principle.

What youre saying is Brady forced the Dolphins to comply and talk to him? Wow what a stretch. Still, its not the players wrong doing. No matter which way you cut it
Why do you insist on rephrasing every comment to mean something it doesn’t say? Your inferiority complex is showing.
The player has a contractual obligation to act in the best interest of his team. There was clearly an ongoing back and forth, all season long and into the future.
Brady should have responded that he is a Patriot employee and cannot work against the best interest of his team. That would have been 1 call.
Instead he conspired and it lasted 3 years.

Its not Bradys responsibility, If youve seen the rules that have been pasted here. Its the teams responsibility. Brady literally broke 0 rules

Wow. So you posted the rules the teams are held to and think that means the player didn’t break any?
You are aware that the player has a contract right?
Clearly you are not aware that it has rules the player is bound to including acting in the best interest of his team.

Basically you are doing the equivalent of posting the law in jaywalking and it prices murder is legal. Great work Perry Mason.

I posted the tampering rule, and nowhere does it say responsibility falls on the players...which is why nothing happened to Brady. Sorry, youre getting owned today

From the article you posted.

The raw numbers of Brady’s eventual 2019 contract agreement suggested he’d received a two-year, $70 million extension and boosted his 2019 salary from $15 million to $23 million. But a closer look at the numbers showed Brady essentially just got a one-year raise without any real future commitment because 2020 and 2021 were both “void” years in his contract.

What’s more, he was all but assured to become a free agent because he asked for a contract that would prevent New England from franchise or transition tagging him.

As such, it’s not hard to imagine the two-year, $53 million deal might not have been as sweet as it sounds.

The Pats had been doing 2 year deals with the 2nd year voidable. They were doing it for cap management but for Brady it was essentially another 1 year deal with no commitment beyond 1 year. You should read the full article before posting.

Revisionist history here. It’s very well documented that after the his 2017 MVP year he wanted a multi year deal, got a 1 year. After the 2018 SB he wanted what the Drew Brees deal, didn’t get it. He got 1 year. Then going into 2019 he knew he was only going to keep getting 1 year, incentive deals so he asked for the out clause. If Belichick and Kraft wanted Brady here, all they had to do was offer him a multi year deal which they never did.
Anyone who thinks that Brady was going to be a Patriot after the 2019 season isn't using his common sense.

Brady knew he was coming to the last few seasons of his career.

Brady has ALL the money he needs, so money was never the real object for him, and it never has been.

Fact: The Pats who had gone all in from 2016 to 2019 (an had 3 superbowl appearances to show for it) was going into cap hell and the need for a positional rebuild. They were NOT going to be a championship contender for the next few seasons.

So why would Brady want to stay hear and use his remaining time during a rebuild, when he would be free to go to teams with more talent and a better chance to excel. He'd be nuts to want to. SF, Tampa, and to a lesser degree Miami all fit the bill better than the Pats.....and he left.

I was glad for him when he went to Tampa. They had the best set of skill players available and THEN added Gronk and Brown. Brady was where he needed to be and if you were a TRUE fan of him over the previous 20 odd years, you should have been happy FOR him.

Bottom line, his leaving was a lot less about any friction with Bill, or lack of money or "security" from the Pats, than it was for this uber-competitive player to compete for championships. Again, COMMON SENSE. The rest was dueling narratives

So your argument is the patriots didn’t make him an offer because they did?
Are you really telling me that Brady was afraid he would be cut after 1 year?
If the player is afraid he can’t make it to year 2, shouldn’t the team be?

Honestly not sure how you arrived at that conclusion if you've been paying attention lol. He was talking to Miami in 2019 when they had a much worse roster than us.

You said they matched the TB offer...I explained to you they didnt, you provided no evidence and waited for somebody else to link something. They did and it was immedately proven wrong. Now go find me a source that says he got 2 years 50 mil fully guaranteed...Thats what matching is
