What the... did you even read the history of what happened or are you purposefully trolling us? There was no matching of offers. Brady negotiated his last contract to allow himself to become an unrestricted free agent. He could and did negotiate and sign with whoever he wanted. The Patroits couldn't do anything about it once Tom took away the Franchise Tag.

How many rings did Parcells bring us? How often did Brady publicly discuss his dirty laundry like Parcells did? They aren’t the same, totally different contexts and class. this is sort of silly.

I never said these were equal or Brady deserves the same treatment as Parcells. I am pointing out that nearly 30 years later it is a huge sticking point with people in this area with Parcells. I am saying the fact Brady spent most of his last year negotiating with at one other team on and off the entire season tarnishes his image a bit. It doesn't make him all the sudden a pariah. It just is one black mark in a stellar career.

I still love Brady and my take on this is more disappointment in him that he had checked out his final year here rather than any hate or animosity. But then again, I thought he checked out in 2019 before I learned this. It just makes it more disappointing that he was actually actively trying to leave here rather than just whining and pouting.

Maybe I should have been a little clearer what I meant. It doesn't destroy his legacy here, it just tarnishes it a bit.
