I’m guessing the severity of the punishment (1st round pick +) is based more on this than just the Brady and Peyton tampering.

It’s so obvious a punishment for openly expressing a desire to throw games without saying it is because then the NFL might legit be up to things like litigation from gambling institutions and stuff like that. Not to mention that Ross really couldn’t remain an owner after that.

You don't talk to another team in the middle of the season, especially a bitter division rival...that's like Nick Saban in talks with Auburn to become their HC while he is still employed by Bama. As far as Tuna is concerned, he was here only for a few years, so whatever. Brady was here for 20.

Yeah, I’m disappointed to read this. I’m sure this happens far more often than we’d like to believe, but I’d also like to think Brady would do things the right way when leaving and not look into this stuff during the season.
