What do we want to see at Training Camp

What I'd like to see is less overreaction...especially from the media. Twitter reporting only exacerbated an existing hyperbolic approach to training camp reporting to sensationalize practice reps as entirely relevant to predict future production.

Definitely! There's a serious shortage of cynicism and negativity around here that threatens to make the preseason unrealistically enjoyable. I really don't get what the near fanaticism here is all about!

so, we have no TE's qualified for the roster; so we should keep two? I'd rather sign a vet FA backup and cut them both.

Based on what? Who said Asiasi and Keene were not qualified? Let's relax and see how the 3rd year players produce. Clearly the Pats were done with Winovich (hence the trade), but they still kept Asiasi, Keene, Jennings, and Uche. I hope we can agree that Dugger is a keeper.

1) In 2021, we had two TE's developing TE's that we had spent two high picks to get. Their prospects were sooo good that we used lots and lots of money to sign not one, but two, TE's in free agency. Yes, the team has decided to allow the 3rd year players to compete for the backup TE spot, which will likely be inactive in most games, inactive even more likely given our additions as WR.

2) Winovich was trading after three years, when the team finally gave up on him.

3) Did I mention Dugger? In any case, he is a fine player, part of one of the very best safety groups in the NFL.

The DT position is still up in the air.
for who?

Folks may not like Godchaux and Guy as part of our DT group with Barmore. Davis is the backup, with Ekuale also available after 2 games.

Sure, we could add an upgrade. That is true for every position. But that doesn't make the position "up in the air".

As an aside, Cowart and Anderson are also in the mix. (yes, I seem to ignore Murray).

No injuries!!!!!

And then:

1.) Linebackers
2.) D-linemen
3.) Secondary
4.) WR corps
5.) OL
6.) Kicker?

Not worried about our QB, RB's, and TEs (even Jonnu).

The hyperbole is about the only thing that is fairly balanced both here and in the media regardless of which pole it emanates from. Of course, there are outliers, but in the grand scheme it's most likely either "worst" or "best".

Besides Barmore, I wouldn't give you a conditional 7th-rounder for the rest of them combined.

Guy looked washed-up (EDIT: or used-up... a man can take only so many double-teams because Godsmack just needs to be single-blocked) at the end of the season, so you can throw him outta the club too.

I'll be happy if Marcus is simply declared fit to open the season Not on a Reserve list... If he thought his shoulders hurt before, wait until he gets a load of the pounding they're gonna take after trying to return some kicks... On second thought, let's not have him return any kicks for a while and instead have him first concentrate on learning the Slot DB position, so that Myles of Space Bryant isn't Plan B from it when Jonathan Jones suffers his what by now feels like annual injury...

Good grief you're negative... and wrong.

Prior to last season Jon Jones missed one game in five seasons... one. What do you mean by "annual injury," the guys been a virtual iron man?

And I don't get your Marcus Jones comment, if his shoulders are an issue why would making tackles at CB be better than being a return man or even playing WR... it wouldn't.

Bill only has to cut one player by then. Everyone else, 5 players. Chess vs checkers. Bill still the smartest guy in the room.

Let's hope Trey Flowers is walking through that door.

So this 85 by 8/16 thing: can teams on that day send players to season-ending IR without having to subject them to waivers first?

(IR-DFRs still have to be on the 53 at CutDown Day, I'm ass-uming...)

Bill Murray cannot be ignored. He's reached total enlightenment (so he's got that going for him).
I like Murray. Give him a chance against the big boys.
