OL Hainsey (depth on 53)

LB Stuard (ST starter)

Yeah, that's what made it worse as they only drafted for depth and ST. So it was a low bar yet they failed on both. With all their injuries, the Bucs sure could have used a rookie stepping up. And special teams was bad in 2020 and still below average in 2021.

Tryon was ok the 1st half of the season as a depth piece but he disappeared when he became the starter.

Trask was redundant with Gabbert as the backup and they really could have used a corner or a WR at this spot.

I don't remember if it was Hainsey who took over the right tackle spot for Wirfs in the playoffs, but whoever it was, he was bad.

Hainsey had limited snaps in 4 games during regular season. His grades weren't bad.

So I keep hearing how Licht has been hitting the drafts out of the park, when in fact the 2021 draft was a strikeout so far. If he had drafted better, the rookies may have made a difference. No one has noticed yet, but they will if he has another bad draft. If Bucs have a bad draft two years in a row, I don't like their chances for a SB. A champion team always need new hungry players to compliment the experienced veterans.

Sort of reminds me of BB. He had great drafts for most of 15 years, but then had bad drafts 5 years or so. It was only after Brady left that people noticed that the team's stars were old or have moved on to be replaced with a bunch of jags.

Well the team retained every starter on offense and defense, so backup development and ST really was all that was needed.

Tryon did much better rotating in a few snaps a game.

The big thing about Tryon to remember is he didn't play in college in 2020 due to covid rules.

Tryon hit the wall hard because he wasn't ready to be a starter. He should be able to build upon his rookie season.

I can't imagine any owner wanting to give or sell a part of their team to a player, even if it is the GOAT.

That just sets a dangerous precedent, plus would be tricky to navigate salary cap rules.

Plus the rest of the NFL would have to approve such a move.

Then again, maybe the Dolphins and Brady were going to do that, but the rest of the league said no and rejected it

That garbage report is easily refuted by logic alone.

Florio said Brady was going to be announced as a minority owner, then the Dolphins were going to claim his rights and he was going to be the QB.

The problem with that, is the NFL rules prohibit a player being an owner and vice versa.

So what Florio is spewing as facts, is in fact impossible.

To my knowledge there is no rule that prohibits an NFL player from being a minority owner of the team he plays for...it would be unprecedented in this league and there are probably a few barriers that would have to be overcome. Not sure though.

I hope the Bucs aren't trying to lowball him. I can't seem him playing for anything less than the 8 mil he made last year. I think he got an additional 1 or 2 mil bonus.

They sort of have to with Howard gone. I can see them going TE in round 3. What round is McBride expected to go?

Since the draft is coming up. Looking back at the Bucs 2021 draft, it was a terrible draft for that season. And they may not be much better for 2022.

Round 1- Tryon was stuck behind an injured JPP for most of the season. Then when given more playing time, he hit a rookie wall and was outplayed by Nelson.

Round 2- Trask. High pick for someone who couldn't win the backup job. Gabbert being resigned means it was a wasted pick.

Round 3- Hainsey. Wasn't useful last year. Supposedly he was to replace Jensen but he was resigned. If he can't win a starting job, then another waisted pick.

Round 4- Darden. Was worse than the guy he replaced in Mickens. He should be cut. Miller can take his special team spot.

Later rounds - irrelevant.

Bucs had injury issues on offensive line, running back, WR, Edge, and CB. The rookies did not improve any of those positions.
