Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Godwin is 25 years old coming off an injury that is now routine. He’ll be completely fine for week 1. It’s OBJ who is pushing 30 and got the same injury two months later whose future is up in the air right now.
You never know if a player is back at 100% until a game situation. I think Bucs have enough talent anyways. For insurance, they should just go out and get Amendola. But I don't think he'll play for league minimum.

Obj just doesn't want to take whatever low ball offers he is getting right now.

There are some good WRs in the draft. Post draft teams might be more interested in him or Landry

Safety is such a crucial position in Todd Bowles’ defense. Bucs lost Jordan Whitehead but now have added two in Logan Ryan and Keanu Neal. Antoine Winfield and Mike Edwards back from last year, so they’ll have versatility for different packages and looks.

Neal played linebacker in Dallas but is going back to safety here. Could step in as needed or as a dime linebacker in sub packages.

As expected, #Bucs have signed QB Blaine Gabbert.

Another piece back for Bucs, bringing back their top backup QB from last two seasons in Gabbert. Question now will be who the No. 2 is, Gabbert or Kyle Trask?

I wouldn't say they don't trust Trask. Could be they dress Trask as the 2 this year and keep Gabbert as an experienced backup. Trask hasn't played a snap yet, so it's just the uncertainty of that.

So is Neal good because nothing jumps off the stats page.

Yes decent they need depth on the secondary last year they couldn’t even play there defense how they wanted cause they couldn’t field a healthy secondary

Yeah Tampa is all set at LB. That was never an issue.

Leaving aside the era in which he played Bill Russel falls into the same difficulty that all superstar centers fall into. How it’s almost impossible to rank them alongside other NBA players. Because what Russel, Kareem, Shaq, and Duncan could do in their primes was so dominate and they all have the rings to pump up their resume. But it’s not a sexy role on the court.

Seems like BA is a bit polarizing even to actual Bucs fans per the comments.

Like I’ve mentioned here. Arians was coach of TB for exactly one none Brady season. And it wasn’t a good one. He has no roots there. He has no roads paved into the fandom that comes from years of being a coach. He was some rando, yeah he was coming off a a relatively successful stint in Arizona, but he was just a guy before Brady. He’s not Tony Dungy who over the course of years built a championship roster out of one of the worst franchises in sports. Why should Bucs fans care much about him? It would be like Pats fans being sad about Pete Carroll getting canned in 2000.
