Rapoport, Schefter: Josh McDaniels, Dave Ziegler hired by Raiders for HC/GM Positions

Getting hired and fired before ever making the playoffs isn’t exactly a must have resume.
Not a plus but considering some of the clowns that get jobs it's good

Look forward to hopefully some fresh air at OC. Particular a guy who can utilize the personnel, double TE sets, etc. Basically, a guy who isn’t only as good as the players they have to work with. Need some value add.

We’ll probably not know who replaces McDaniels until passing camps start in May, and we’ll have to study the videos of draft selections to discern who replaced Ziegler. I’m tired of Bill’s excessive secrecy.

I’m very disappointed with the Krafts at this point, They’ve allowed the GOAT QB and deserving heir apparent coach he run off by a 70 year old who insists on continuing coaching we’ll past an age where any coach or manager has ever been able to approach the success of their earlier years just because he wants to pursue a useless record held by a vastly overrated coach and makeup for being an absentee dad to a couple of men now in their 30s.

We need to hold their feet to the fire. Some of you have to let go of your insipid hero worship and demand the best from this football team and it’s HC. He doesn’t get to rest on his laurels anymore than all the players that passed through year and won him a lot of games and earned him way too much praise for their accomplishments.

Wow
In Bill we trust.
Bill forgot more about football than Mcdaniels will ever know.
Bill forgot more about complete team ball than Andy Reid will ever know.
Now when it comes to developing, signing, drafting receivers you have a valid argument.

I’d suggest this would be a good time for you to find a topic you understand better to have discussions about.

This stinks for Mac's development. Very interested to see if Bill makes an outside hire or promotes from within.
What is Chad O'Shea doing?

Let's start with some who were just fired which has losing records
I was talking about him getting hired the servings time, not the first time.
By clown hire I assume we mean a guy who failed before
Fired coaches (off the top of my head)
Culley. Wasn’t a clown hire
Meyer wasn’t a clown hire.
Gruden wasn’t a clown hire
Nagy, Fangio and Judge may have been but were 1st time HC so don’t fit the criteria
I may have missed some

I just don’t see a lot of coaches who miss the playoffs each year and get fired as hot candidates to get scooped right up.
The only ones I recall were gase and Rex and those proved to be horrible hires.

Cully was hosed.

Meyer was poorly vetted. Was a clown of epic proportions

I think teams could do a lot worse than Flo

Meyer brought a tremendous track record with him.
What did you want vetted?
The failure there was that he expected to turn it around faster than was realistic and he couldn’t deal with sucking.

I’m not trashing Flores, I’m saying the idea that he was a slam dunk, gotta have hire after the job he did in Miami is not accurate. Whether he deserved longer or not, he did fail there.

Btw, I wasnt referred to their tenure, or firing, but their status at the time of being hired. Ie Culley had an impressive resume as an assistant when hired and I wasn’t referring to his firing.

He was a horrible pro coach and a PR disaster. Good interviewing and delving into backgrounds tend to get those kinds of things brought to the surface.

The bigger question for you is what Tampa Bay will do at QB. Oh, wait -- you're done with the NFL now. Right?
