Brady's under contract for another year.I'd bet good money that JMcD had a phone call or two to Tom about Allen and the Raiders.

I think he means that he asked Tim what he thinks of Mark Davis.Brady's under contract for another year.
Wow, great info. Just wanted to throw that out there before this gets flooded with #nepotism!I was just looking up Charlie Weiss, he’s still ONLY 65. But I found out something interesting. His son, Charlie Weiss Jr, was just named the OC & QB coach of Ole Miss. Before that, he was the OC and QB coach of Florida Atlantic and South Florida.
Interestingly enough, he was an offensive assistant for the Atlanta Falcons, under none other than OC Steve Sarkisian in 2017. Weiss Jr. might be a name to keep an eye on for the future. Sarkisian’s offense game plans were masterful and helped Mac become a stud in Alabama. Worked under Lane Kiffin at Florida Atlantic, and for his Dad at Alabama when his dad was an offensive consultant. The kid has SOME history at such a young age (28) working for some extremely successful offensive minds. Allegedly was the youngest OC in NCAA history when he was named OC/QB coach at age 24 in 2018 for Florida Atlantic.
He got cancelled. Something that's been happening more and more on the forum when you piss off a certain group. There's certainly nothing he posted that warranted a ban. In fact, aside from his annoying repetitive posts about McD, he actually posted valid football topics about the OL, run D, and McD going elsewhere. I've seen so many posters insult other posters way worse than anything he did, yet they're not banned.I do think he crossed a few lines once in a while in regards to other posters, but I'm just speculating (no idea IF he's actually been banned, nevermind what was the banning offense in the end).
Agree. If Josh blew Davis in the initial interview, we don't want him back.Bye Josh

I'm certainly not defending him, but I despise censorship, especially in a forum.

It's not nepotism so much when the coach cut his teeth with another team under coaches not related to him.Wow, great info. Just wanted to throw that out there before this gets flooded with #nepotism!
Gotta disagree. I don’t care who knows who, loves who or blows who, as long as they are damn good at what they do. I don’t see why a kid would want to work in the shadow of their parent if they are any good, but I don’t mind if they decide to if they do a solid job. The Patriots are a well run organization, and are back on the upswing after 1 year off. Those old boy country club folks seem to be doing a pretty damn good job. Also, that coaching staff/front office gets raided every single year. Imagine if they went with bringing in new blood with fresh ideas each time it happened? They’d be spinning their wheels. It's not nepotism so much when the coach cut his teeth with another team under coaches not related to him.
But I do have to say, it is all kind of concerning.
I mean, half the NFL executives played for a small Div. III Catholic college in Ohio at the same time!
McVay, Shanahan, countless others litter NFL coaching staffs and exec booths, all taking after their Dads. We have a Wolf doing personnel stuff for us right now.
It is all a little unseemly. This is one of the biggest old boys club outside Augusta or Brookline Country Club.
100% accurate. I would imagine Tom gave him some serious intel.I think he means that he asked Tim what he thinks of Mark Davis.
I could of interpreted it incorrectly.
I would think there's a big difference in censorship and getting detention, but that's just me.It's not censorship on a privately run forum. He's not going to jail or being silenced by the government. I don't know what he said that got him banned in the end, but if it was something Ian (if he was involved) didn't want representing his forum, he has every right to remove him. Again, not speaking to the specifics of this case, but in general the last thing I want here is an unmoderated wild west.
The problem I see is that there's an ignore poster function that gets regularly ignored. Instead you have posters complaining about other posters when they have the power to put them on ignore, yet don't. It's like watching Nick Wright on tv and instead of changing the channel, you sit there screaming at the boob tube. It's nonsensical. He was actually ruining the forum for me.
He was posting his McD stuff in countless threads, threads that weren't even about McD, and people were taking him up in the arguments. I was slogging through so much of his stuff and responses to his stuff, that time was being wasted.
I should think the moderators have an interest in the way things flow on this forum.

I use the ignore function. I used it on him. But you do realize we then read the posts responding to him, right? And that goes for every ignored poster we ignore. The problem I see is that there's an ignore poster function that gets regularly ignored. I found some of his posts repetitive and annoying and chose to just scroll right past them if they were the same stuff. Imo he offered some interesting viewpoints at times in a football forum. What makes a forum interesting are the different viewpoints, characters, and personalities. To just cancel someone for not being the same as everyone else or popular is frankly pathetic when the answer is "put him on ignore" if he bugs you so much. We're all adults here and have choices. We shouldn't have to be protected by mommy and daddy on an open forum.
When you have like 8 guys who were all together at John Carroll working at the top of front offices, I'm going to wonder if these are really the best guys fr the job. Because sheer logic tells us NO.Gotta disagree. I don’t care who knows who, loves who or blows who, as long as they are damn good at what they do. Now, if the Pats absolutely sucked several years in a row, then yeah, I get it. People would lose their ****. Understandable. Now, we are about to possibly lose Ziegler and McDaniels. Any chance they take a few other folks with them as well? BB has to focus on FA, Draft, the whooole offseason. Do folks really want him to be filling up all the spots with new guys who don’t know **** and are going to have to adjust to him and him adjust to them, or would you rather he goes with who he knows and can trust and get back to work? I say as long as what he is doing works, keep doing it.
I really don’t like the whole no OC/DC ******** though.
Well, this team has been in contention nearly every year for a very long time, and it wasn’t all Tom. It was in contention last year, and it wasn’t all because of Bill. Everyone is posting about the inner workings of the organization like they are there. I swear some of the reporters/twitter guys get material from this forum. Without a doubt. Mayo/Steve situation is just stupid. Players need clarity. If the only reason Steve is calling plays is because Bill said to himself “I gotta take care of jr.” knowing damn well it would harm this team, then I’ll jump into the pit with you. I just don’t think that is the case. I think the organization is definitely run like a tight knit group of like minded individuals who know their role and do their jobs. When it stops working, hopefully John can convince his ol man to pull the trigger. When you have like 8 guys who were all together at John Carroll working at the top of front offices, I'm going to wonder if these are really the best guys fr the job. Damned good at what they do? The logic of nepotism tells us there are others elsewhere who could do a better job.
