OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Jimmy to Green Bay
Tom to San Francisco
Trey Lance to Tampa Bay
Aaron to Celebrity Real World
Brady is not a free agent, I guess they could work out a trade for Lance if he wanted to go to San Francisco.

I still say if it's anything short of a Gisele ultimatum he is coming back for one more year at least. Maybe he can convince her that next year is his last rodeo and then see how things play out from there.

I find it hard to believe a guy like TB12 would abruptly turn his back on his team and the sport like that without kicking and screaming. And the Bucs need him. I think the league needs him too.

It is kind of a surreal feeling but if he is really gone so is my interest in the NFL. Just can't stomach the league or Roger or the corrupt refs any longer. I feel a strange sense of peace about it though like it is time for me too. LOL
Many of us feel the same.

When it comes to that time, can we have a continuing thread for the post Tompa Gronkaneers era?

I won't be following football during offseason and regular season, but I do intend to come back a couple months a year during the playoffs.

The league would definitely be different once he retires. Nobody would come close to this man and I was lucky enough to witness it on my favorite team from 2000-2019 and these last two seasons in Tampa

bahaha no. It would be a trade for Jimmy OR peanuts because if Brady retires you get nothing.

Yeah, it was kind of tongue in cheek without regard to the realities of making it happen.

But I do think there's some truth to it as well.

Jimmy G. to Packers. I think if the Packers can't retain Rodgers, this is a perfect fit. Jimmy is like 75% of Rodgers; his game overlaps a lot with Rodgers game. He loves those timing patterns over the middle and is accurate on the underneath stuff. Obviously, he doesn't have that big time needle threading capability and he's less accurate, but if you're the Packers and believe you can still win now, I love the fit there. Gotta remember that Shanahan and LaFleur (and McVay) are all linked together with their offense, so a QB who can run one should be able to run another.

Brady to 49ers. This is a perfect fit, in my opinion. My goodness, would that offense be terrifying with Gronk and Kittle, plus Deebo Samuel. They work from the inside out which is more effective for Brady, and Shanahan loves the quick decision making and accuracy. I don't know if those two would clash, though, only because I think Shanahan loves the scripted plays and Brady is more of an instinct guy who reacts to the defense instead of locking in on a first read. My guess is they'd dominate, though.

Trey Lance / Jordan Love. I think we can put these guys into a category of ideal for a team looking to rebuild and start from scratch. Not sure if Love is really bad; that Chiefs defense was #1 in the league over the second half, and it was his first start. Lance is still an asset who teams might trade one first round pick for.

Just saying, there's some pretty interesting possibilities in the works with the Bucs-Packers-Niners, who are all facing questions at QB. Throw Russell Wilson into the mix, too. Most likely, no one will change teams, as usual, but hey, I'm just here to come up with unlikely scenarios to amuse myself.

Jimmy for Brady sounds intriguing. It has a very slight chance of happening if JG stinks up the joint vs Rams.

They'll be some changes. Don't forget that Pittsburgh is also a very good team who is one QB away from being a contender.

Wilson has been looking for greener pastures for 2 years now, so he's gone. JG will be out there too unless he balls. If I were Packers, I'd trade Rodgers.

Just wanna talk AB real quick. How stupid is Arians and that team when Godwin went down you cuddle AB and take care of his every need you’re not winning ahit with Johnson as WR2. Why not guarantee the 800K how cheap is that why did that dumbass force him to play vs the ****ing Jets why tell him to leave the bench when you know how he is.

Also I hope Jacksonville is dumb enough to hire that clown leftwhich who didn’t have any design to get players open

That's enabling. That's the problem with AB he has enablers everywhere

I would say that receiver were open on Sunday. The fact is they were open and drop 10 passes. 4 or 5 of them on 3rd down. That killed multiple drive where the Bucs could have scored.

i don’t think the receiver being open was a problem. The fact that Brady had no time to throw to them was the problem. When he had time he found them.

Sean Peyton “retiring”. Brady needs to come back now, those Saints games are now wins lol.

I wonder if a lot of players and coaches are considering retirement because of the vaccine mandate. Just a thought I had recently that maybe some of them don't want to keep going along with the shots and protocols. That could also be weighing on Brady too even though he would never say it publicly.
