Black Monday thread: the NFL Coaching Carousel

Well he's certainly familiar with them... But how often I wonder do these within-the-division coaching changes really work? It didn't for Googly Gaze... or Tubby Wrex...

Some Arizona fans want a change with their head coach.

Given the history of that franchise, that may be a bit short-sighted?

No way they fire him.

Not sure why Denver isn't listed, but Mayo isn't a top betting candidate there either and McDaniels obviously isn't getting the job.

Keep an eye on the Saints, as there are rumors of Sean Payton "retiring" for a year to force his way to a new team in 2023.

Patriots?

Patriots?
I'm guessing Belichick wants to coach for a year or two too long for that transition to go smoothly. He sounded almost offended when reporters asked if he'd be back next year, so I don't think next year is his last either.

That’s a lot of bad hires all rolled into one tweet

Jack of all trades, masters of none. I know some of you take all things Bill as gospel, but the Ravens and Steelers have won a lot of games that way without a Brady.
I don't know that's Belichick's philosophy at all. We heard for so many years that he's much less interested in what you can't do then in what you can do. He fits pieces together like a puzzle and if you do something really well, he can use you. In general, our guys lack versatility, I believe. Look at our LBs. Many of them have always been one dimensional.

Congrats to old friend Nick, who beat Rapoport by a hair. Big story for the independent guy to break.

Daboll getting the job after Judge would be obvious but also interesting. Daboll is clearly a BB coaching tree hire. While he's been around other places as OC, he grew up under BB with Pats. I hope he does get it. I think Bills would be hurt a bit without him.
On a similar note - there's no obvious replacement for JMD if he left. But it seems nothing is likely for him right now. I really don't like BOB, don't want him back no matter what.

Mayo is going to rack up a lot of frequent flier miles so all these Good Ole Boy teams can check a box
