OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Mike Evans says the Rams defense has a lot of superstars, they always play hard, communicate well, tackle well, so they'll be a challenge Sunday in Tampa.

"I like the game plan this week, and I like our chances," Mike Evans says of getting another shot at Rams, who beat Bucs in Week 3 in Los Angeles.

Arians said it's still wait-and-see on Playoff Lenny. He'll know more tomorrow when they really open it up at practice.

Whoa! Given where John Brown's body lies, the Bucs are truly in desperate panic mode
Perriman was awful last week and with the RT out you know it's going to be 2 TEs max protect the right side and quick passes. They will simply have to trust Johnson and live or die with him unless Mike Evans can become a short route expert overnight. Lenny would be huge this game because they would have to account for him. Bottom line is some no names will need to be huge on critical downs Sunday.

The way the Not Gronk TEs block, i'm not sure that's a good solution.

There is no good solution vs this Dline with RT out and Center on a bad ankle. It's unfortunate. I'm a bit shocked that they are favored in most of the lines but I expect that will change by the weekend. If they somehow get the lead and the D can get after Stafford then who knows what will happen. The problem is they will get destroyed most times they send more than 4 and they can't create pressure otherwise. The DC is off doing interviews on top of it.

The line will not noticeably change. Also the Bucs can absolutely create pressure with 4.

Anyway Zolak was just asked by Bertrand if Brady was retiring and he immediately said “no. Hard no.” So that’s interesting.

It will absolutely change. If you think they will line up with a backup RT that is also hurt and try to play like that, I don't know what to tell you. It will be limited routes with max protection on alot of plays.

Why are people just giving the Rams offense the benefit of the doubt that’ll they’ll automatically score like 30? This is Matt Stafford.

I said the Vegas lines won’t change.

I don't think people think he'll put up 30 automatically unless TB blitzes all night.

Ah ok, my bad. I don't know but if all the money goes on LA won't the line come down?

Yes but I dont see that happening unless something dumb happens like Gronk is suddenly listed as doubtful on Friday.

Even if those claims are true, isn't it likely that such "say" would be limited to things like "I took a lot less than I could have, now make sure we keep Welker"? And, given what was said in Dante's recent interview, doesn't that make sense?
Definitely. I think Brady just wanted some input on the guys he would throw the ball to.

Hence why I think he might have made a push for Diggs or Hopkins.

I also think throwing to an elite WR again in AB, made Brady really want to play with talented Wrs and he certainly deserved it.

But I highly doubt he was like extend Thuney at such and such, and trade up in the draft for this LB or Safety. Because that would be ridiculous.

Belichick is a douche, so I bet any suggestions from Brady on who would be a good wr would be perceived as Brady wants control of the roster

Makes sense and I doubt that Brady would even get upset about not going after 20m a year receivers. Others have mentioned this but BB seems to have in house paygrades on position groups and when you make Edelman play for 6mil and don't bring back Amendola for around the same money, that's when you might upset the QB.

Brady took less money so that BB could

  1. Underpay Welker, then lose him because he refused to correct that
  2. Repeatedly insist that Amendola take pay cuts
  3. Underpay Edelman and then put him in the position where he would have had to leave in order to get the money he deserved

Whether or not that was a significant part of why Brady got fed up, it had to be something that annoyed him, because there was just no need for it.

Because of course, Jimmy G is hurt in two different ways going into the Packers game. Christ what a waste he is. Now I wish the Cowboys had won because that would be way easier for the Bucs this week and the Rams probably wouldn’t beat Green Bay anyway so that doesn’t matter.

Yeah, Vegas is giving alot of respect to Brady unlike the voters for 1st team allpro/mvp this year against Rodgers and the probowl last year vs Murray.

With all the injuries, the Bucs are burnt toast without Brady.

Brady brings this team up from a huge underdog to a slight favorite. Sounds MVP like to me.

#Bucs coach Bruce Arians on how worried he is about the Rams’ pass rush with the addition of Von Miller and the injuries to their offensive line: “I’d be worried if they were all healthy. If they’re not healthy, I’m hellaciously worried.”
