Game Day Thread Official Pats at Bills Playoff Pregame Discussion Thread

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

Rush lane integrity is a problem but I think the Pats now play mostly zone, not man, so I’m not sure that’s an issue.
Although the zone defense is more frequent this year, I believe they still play man >50% of the time.
Id like to se LT Brown RT Onwenu as well (since Wynn looks like a no go). The reason for LT Herron is not only about not touching established positions but to have Onwenu as jumbo monster (on both sides) which in this freezing run heavy game (like the first one) could be a game changer.

If you look at other jumbo options (incl Herron) - there's just not another decent run blocker there. I hoped Durant could at least be that but he looked beyond bad. Also unfortunately Pats dont have decent inline run blocking TE. If somebody like Gronk, Bennett or Allen were on the roster that would be another story.

One should prob first maximise run blocking on every down so i think LT Brown RT Onwenu is/was def in play.
I don't think you can determine your starting OL just by the jumbo package you want for select plays. Your starting OL has to be your best OL. ****, if the jumbo package is that important, move Onwenu out to the extra tackle spot for those packages and put Herron in at LT.

Conventional wisdom would say this should be a heavy run game for the Pats then, but I might argue the opposite would be more prudent. I want Mac active for as much of the game as possible. Keep him moving, keep him warm, keep him in the game. What could be disastrous is if we go run heavy on early downs, and then ask him to convert 3rd downs having no real feel for throwing the ball in these conditions. So long as there's no big winds or snow, let the kid sling it consistently. At the very least, keep the run/pass balanced. If they get a lead, adjust after that, but don't let Mac stiffen up early while the game is close.
thye're going to play it like they have been the last eight games (outside that aberration in Barfalo a few weeks back). The key is limiting the mistakes that cost them every week.I'm not optimistic...

I don't get it. The weather sucks but they have a good chance to knock off their bully from the past 20 years and they're practically giving away the tickets?? I thought they were tough up there. That's the sign of a ****ty fan base.
I've heard it's partly because Canadians aren't allowed to go, and plenty of their season ticket base is Canadian, so they have a bunch of people who all need to sell

I'm optimistic, but not bullish. Let's fight about it!

Grazie Roberto !
When i was in Minneapolis for the Super Bowl it was really C O L D but at least the game was indoor...
I checked. The Milan area is expecting 9C and sun. Dude, we are getting a storm in the Atlantic East of Canada tomorrow. Do yourself a favour and stick to Italia ! I’m jealous.

Now here is zero Celsius...approx 31 Fahrenheit

I remember well 114 Fahrenheit at Death Valley and Joshua Tree Park too...arghhhh...

It is 59 Fahrenheit degrees here is Atlanta, but on Sunday we are expecting a wintering mix that will shut down the whole metro Atlanta area for about 2-3 days! It's going to be really cold, 30 degrees with snow. Burrrr

Y'all are tough! I always find it amazing and frightening to think of people actually leaving in places where it gets to 2 degrees and people are actually doing things like going to a football game! Down here, even without snow, we would be shutdown and hunker down.

...and I would welcome your company!

Might see if my oldest daughter wants to go. I can handle myself but maybe bringing her BF who is 6-4 230 might not be a bad idea.

Can he cover TEs and spy the QB? Like how is his lateral quickness and change of direction capabilities?

He actually goes to U Maine Orono and will try out next year as a walk on to be the punter. Kid has a hammer for a leg. Played DT/OL, punted and PK for the local HS team.

I was in Atlanta for the Super Bowl and i have awesome memories
Weather was so good...like spring here...
All was perfect

It's the drive, hotel and trying to get out of a Saturday afternoon and Sunday thing I committed to.

Price is insane huh?
I just talked to my son and we toyed with going and just decided the cold isn’t worth it.
We’ve been to maybe 30 games at Gillette including the one maybe 6 years ago or so that was announced as the coldest game in the history of the stadium.
Definitely do not enjoy being there as much when it’s crazy cold.
Might start checking for tickets in Tennessee next week

amazing stats and taken me by surprise

Me too a little bit, but I think we forget that he's the CB2 on a defense that is 2nd in pass yards allowed, yards per pass, INTs, and passer rating against. I guess it shouldn't be that surprising that his individual metrics are pretty good too.

Yea the 0 degree forecast does have me hesitating.

Drive 5+hrs from central MA
Check into hotel
Go to game
Go back to hotel
Wake up and grab some coffee and breakfast
Drive 5+hrs home

Logistics are very doable

If it were going to be 30 degrees I’d have already bought them.
Instead:
Fly to Tennessee in the morning
Rent a car, book a hotel
Go to game fly home the next day, and post about our chances in the afccg
Just as doable!!

There is one difference...Buffalo is for sure...
