NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 18 Other Games Thread

Everytime I've watched the Chargers that Staley finds a way to make the wrong decision. Way beyond Andy Reid clock issues, Staley is just stupid. And he even looks like a jerkoff.
He WAY overmanages things. Going for a 4th & 2 on your own 19 yd line was another genius move.

Agree. At the end there the Raiders were just going through the normal, taking a knee, but with "soft/save runs" w/no intention of pounding it hard. Charger coach tried to get cute and call a timeout and it probably pissed off the Raiders.

Edit: Now the Chiefs play the fossil that is Ben ..smh.

That last run was for like 12 yards or so and put them in FG range. Previous to that they were just getting 2-3 yards per run and looked to just be going thru the motions. The TO got them focused on winning the game and they called a different play as a result.
You’re right, but they were still running the ball no matter the TO, so while the yardage made the kick easier, I don’t see anyway they don’t make the attempt either way.

F_cking KC is so lucky to get Broken Ben at home. I hope the Bengals put a 50 burger on the Raiders. Assholes.
For winning? Really?

Imagine being Chargers ownership...
Eh, that makes me feel better about it actually. Spanos doesn’t deserve a playoff team, Charger fans need better ownership than him. Shoot, the Charger fan base is a lot smaller than it was 5 years ago directly because of him.

Still safe to say everyone who watches the NFL hates Staley right now.

For cheapening the playoffs with the sh!tsburg scumbags. They were already in the playoffs, win or tie. You live in sh!tsburg or something?

Not disagreeing with you, but offering up an "ok, then..." which is about Staley, and not meant to be negative towards you or your position:

Under your above rubric, shouldn't Staley have gone for two on that last TD?

Yes. Though I honestly think the outcome of a tie swings the risk/reward there.

So context does matter, then, and it shows that (under your theory) Staley didn't really have the courage of his convictions.

Defense on its heels, exhausted pass rush. Would have been gutsy, but worth considering

Just so impressed with Herbert. Converted on 4th and 21. Converted on 4th and 9. Converted a do or die 2pt conversion.

This kid is going to be a superstar. Very few QBs have actual poise and are clutch. Herbert is one of these rare QBs.

I don't know if Staley is a good coach. He lucked into coaching an all star team on the Rams.

Chargers will probably take that NT Davis in the draft if they're smart. Their run defense looks as crappy as the Patriots run D.

.

If you're a Chargers player, how can you trust your coach after this performance?
