It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I don’t know, as a competitor I would have made the attempt.Trying a field goal at all is stupid and risky when you can take a knee. They MAY of taken a knee even with a first down but not after that TImeout, no way.
For the 3rd down play not the FG, right?Gives Raiders a chance to reboot. Make the Raiders use their timeouts, not the Chargers. Derek Carr just said on the air that the timeout changed their play call.
Is it a bad look to have a field goal blocked or a bad snap?I don’t know, as a competitor I would have made the attempt.
Taking a knee is such a wuss move, I don’t think they’d ever would have lived it down. Just a bad look. Okay
I’m sure it did, but they were obviously going to run the ball no matter if the TO was called or not.Gives Raiders a chance to reboot. Make the Raiders use their timeouts, not the Chargers. Derek Carr just said on the air that the timeout changed their play call.
Right. For the 3rd down play not the FG, right?
Going to the playoffs is now a bad look.Is it a bad look to have a field goal blocked or a bad snap?
For a kicker that hasn’t missed in that stadium for two seasons? Doubt it.Is it a bad look to have a field goal blocked or a bad snap?
I don’t get why people are mad at the timeout.
If Staley doesn’t call it and Jacobs makes the same run, the Raiders still try the field goal attempt.
They’d have nothing to lose but tie jokes.
That last run was for like 12 yards or so and put them in FG range. Previous to that they were just getting 2-3 yards per run and looked to just be going thru the motions. The TO got them focused on winning the game and they called a different play as a result.I’m sure it did, but they were obviously going to run the ball no matter if the TO was called or not.
That being the case, the still would’ve likely killed the clock to a few seconds and tried for the win.
I don’t see any scenario where the Raiders, in that field position, would have just taken a knee and gone home.
If the Raiders had just taken a knee, we would have been subjected to more rules changes, especially with the Steelers getting screwed. They did it right, minimized risk but still went for the win. Chargers can’t cry - they could have won it with a TD
