OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

You’re a salty little basic b.itch just like all the Colts and other sh.itbag team fans who said these exact words about the Pats when Brady was here. But you donated money to the site so I guess your fraud ass gets to hang around.
Imagine being so desperate that you are focusing on regular season losses when the quarterback you were trying to rip on literally won the Superbowl last year and is going to the playoffs this year AND is a MVP candidate to boot. I never thought so-called Pat's fans would look so ridiculous and sad.

You guys must have a short memory of how much I stick up for Tom in this forum and that I'm well known as an anti Bill - Pro Brady guy.

Hi, my name is TheRainMaker, nice to meet you two.

Ah. It was sarcasm. Emojis are your friend, my friend.

How's everyone holding up after Tom's latest blunder? He sure has lost to some bad teams in his first two years in Tampa. If a team scored less than 10 points, I don't think Tom has lost a game like that in NE during his 20 years.

And as I've said in the Other Games thread, Brady throwing hospital balls are underrated. I never liked Welker, Gronk, Edelman and Amendola as Tom's Kamikaze's. They took vicious hits ending some of their seasons. The pass to Godwin on 3rd down short of the sticks with a guy barreling down on him was idiotic.

Out of character post for you. Comes across as kneejerk, big Brady guy all season and then a sudden hot take artist after one game.

Anyone who watches football sees that “hospital balls” are frequent and necessary in the NFL. Are we really just going to call any pass that in hindsight resulted in an injury a hospital ball? So QBs can’t throw over the middle if there’s a extra defender in the area?

Injuries are often random. Godwin has run that play so many times. Every quarterback throws that type of pass. The fact is, on any throw, if a defender is intent at diving at a receiver’s knees, what can one really do?

Gronk took another huge hit to the ribs last game but was okay, so I guess that one wasn’t a “hospital ball”? But the other one was?

Brady, more than any other QB I've ever seen, goes out of his way to avoid throwing hospital balls. His completion percentage is probably 2-3 points lower than it could be, and his YAC numbers are lower than they could be, because he makes throws to spots where the receiver is protected, and that means that being off even a smidge results in a safe incompletion, and even being dead on results in a safe catch that puts the player down on the ground rather than in danger.

Also, there's nothing a QB can do if a defender is playing dirty and reckless.

Receivers start missing the ball, as Gronk did, cause they're keeping one eye on the defender and protecting themselves.

This is looking just like last season with everyone picking a GB-KC SB, Bucs experiencing late season injuries and dropping in the rankings (even when they won their last 4).

If Bucs can win out, I like their chances.

Greenbay always gets picked every single year since 2010. I will say though they do look like a complete team this year besides special teams

Their secondary looks highly suspect to me. I also believe Tampa matches up extremely well with them so we will see how the seeds fall but I'm not that nervous about playing them versus the Rams who I think are a terrible matchup for Tampa.

I always check out the preseason NFL preview magazines that among other things do record predictions and during the Andrew Luck era the Colts were a popular Super Bowl pick almost every single year. It was amazing. And yeah in the NFC the Packers were picked all the time.

Surely there must be a website that collects and keeps track of the preseason predictions of magazines and experts that we can look back on right? Anyone know?

The problem for the Bucs is keeping AB and Gronk healthy until the playoffs. If AB goes down they need to change the playbook and now that both Bernard and Fournette are out they will have no choice but to trust Jones. That last game was so brutal I have to also imagine they are beaten up mentally as well. The game felt like the Saints were trying to hurt them.

Yeah they do matchup well vs Greenbay on paper. The Rams however boy they need to avoid them at all costs McVay owns Bowles

At least I wouldn’t feel bad rooting for the Rams in the Super Bowl if they meet the Chiefs.

Honestly I would root for any NFC team vs the Chiefs.
I can't root for the Rams, I just can't. I'd rather GB wins than the Rams but then who do you want to hear about for the next 2 years? Mahomes wins another SB or Rodger is ************ and overcomes broken leg and toe to win championship.
