McDaniels to Bears talk is becoming deafening.

Just Lombardi’s opinion but he didn’t think Fields was a fit for the Patriots system given his mechanics. No idea if this extends to McDaniels.

He has that in NE, if he’s in line to replace Belichick, which is likely. The wild card in all of this how long Belichick is planning on sticking around, if it 5 years MacDaniels may not want to wait that long? We will know more by spring.
You keep saying this but what is it you think we'll find out in the spring that'll answer how long BB will continue to coach? Is it if McD takes a HC job? That really wouldn't answer how long BB will continue to coach.

Josh wont leave on a whim. This has to be a perfect situaltion for him to leave. I am not trying to make sh!t up but he is not going anywhere....he's taking Bills job once he goes.

I think we will know more about MacDaniels once this coming off-season is over. If the offers are out there and he passes on them then it’s safe to say he’s sticking it out for the Patriots job, however long that may be. Personally I don’t see Belichick going beyond 75, as he said years ago that he wouldn’t be coaching at 70 ( like Marc Levy, who is probably still in better shape than Belichick.

Mcdaniels would be a complete fool to take the Chicago job!

I don't know why they would need McDaniels when they have 2018 Associated Press & Pro Football Writers Association Coach of the Year Matt Nagy at the helm.
EXACTLY!!

That would seem to depend on how much control he'd have. Ownership appears to be problematic there, I don't know anything about their GM Ryan Pace.

Can't be him, McDaniels got rid of his dreadlocks before training camp.
Maybe but the picture is as credible as any of the posts on this thread.

Chicago is the closest (and possibly last chance) to getting back to be near his extended family and john carroll roots, with the Colts opportunity gone. And the Eagles and Chargers both passed on him (and probably others too like the Falcons and Texans). There are several other hotter coaching names in the NFL for HC over JMcD so he's not going to be able to pick wherever he wants to go as if he's the top pick. He's not.

One encouraging sign is how good this last draft was especially integrating Wolf, Groh, and Patricia into the war room. It isn't dumb and dumber anymore telling BB lowIQ ideas for 6 years.

I hope Josh gets an offer. It may likely be the last NFL HC offer he gets, besides hanging around and hoping BB hangs it up 5 years after he passes Shula in wins. The Chargers and Eagles didn't even give an offer. And there are other coaching names with more momentum than him.

If he stays out of mucking up Patriots personnel decisions, I'm fine if he sticks around. He's not a bad OC (probably better than 10 oc's in the league), he's just a terrible talent evaluator. He's just not as smart as BOB so he progressed his skills on a much slower timeline. (BOB being a good OC and then a mediocre hc).

Why does everyone keep ignoring the REAL reason Josh is wedded to NE. His FAMILY. He moved his NE born wife and 4 kids to Denver and they had a horrific experience. It's the reason why he reneged on the Colt job. He has 4 kids one son who's the QB on his HS team. He is making HCing money and is only 45 years old. If he's to succeed Bill at most he'll be just 50, not old for an NFL HC. At any rate if things don't work out here in 5 years THEN his kids will be in college or out the door and a move elsewhere will make more sense.

In the meantime I will be shocked if Josh will up root his family for ANY job in the near future

Presently, the Bears offense ranks.

32nd in passing attempts
32nd in passing TDs
32nd in passing yards
30th in net yards per passing attempt.

Field is the reincarnation of Cam Newton. 4 passing TDs and 8 INTS. A 58% completion percentage svcks. McDaniel's will be fired again trying to turn Fields into something that he isn't.
"Reincarnation" of Cam Newton? My condolences to the Panthers, Cam's children, and his two girlfriends.

Very good points Ken.

Coming from the guy who labeled Belichick a .450 coach this is high praise. You know all there is to know about having no credibility. Were your other trolling sites shut down and you had nowhere else to go this weekend?

I agree, I hope Belichick has someone new in mind if MacDaniels leaves because I don’t want any of the retreads (O’Shea, O’ Brien, Daboll etc….).

I do think this off-season will give us some insight into whether or not MacDaniels is going to succeed Belichick or not? Belichick has always encouraged his coaches and coordinators to take the interviews whether they are ready or not, but MacDaniels has already been down that road numerous times, if he simply refuses consideration it’s safe to say he is succeeding Belichick, because after the Indy fiasco if he takes interviews then that is unlikely, as he isn’t going to take interviews with no intention of taking a job.
BB loves both elevating people in the building AND welcoming returns. I think he likes ‘his people’. He trusts them.

It’ll be interesting to see if McD indeed gets a shot. I mean, if the problem is ‘players hating on their coach’ McD might not be the touchy feely lover the Bears seek…. He’s learned a lot since his early days, but…

No.

Josh found out Peyton Hillis lives in the Indy area.
