OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Florio sounds like he doesn't have much to write about these days.
I've always had a sense that Florio and Chris Simms are closet Brady/Pat's hater. It's odd for Simms, being a former Bucs starting QB. I don't know for sure as I haven't read or followed them much as they talk all haughty and all knowing.

People like Stephen A, Kellerman, Nick Wright don't bother me, as many of their takes are meant to be just entertainment and sometimes they are funny.

Snap counts are out for Bucs-Giants last night. On offense, quiet nights for Gio Bernard and O.J. Howard, more Breshad Perriman and rare snaps for backup OLs.

Florio and Simms believe they are a cut above the other talking heads. The serious ones who "really know football." That is why you have that sense because they are not joking, they believe it.

Defensive snap counts for Bucs vs. Giants show Mike Edwards working well in big nickel, more work for Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and Sean Murphy-Bunting playing all but one snap (goal line) in his first game back:

With Bills held to 15 points on Sunday, Bucs are now the No. 1 scoring team in NFL -- also ranking second in total offense, 1st in passing, 26th in run, 3rd on third down and 9th in red zone. No. 1 in percentage of sacks allowed as well.

Bucs' defensive ranks are also up after Monday's win -- now 8th in total defense, t-10th in scoring, back to 1st vs. run, 17th vs. pass, 17th on third downs and 10th in red zone. 8th in sack % and 17th in interception %.

Bucs' Tyler Johnson has had a big opportunity with Antonio Brown sidelined. Last four games, he's played at least 60 percent of offensive snaps each week, but has totaled just 11 catches for 106 yards, zero TDs. Last two games, four catches on eight targets.

Right. Miller's return will keep Breshad Perriman on the practice squad -- proven, familiar depth there to guard against further injuries. If anything, Bucs will have a challenge once Brown is back, unlikely to have all seven receivers all dressing on Sundays.

I said this in the game thread but the defensive performance last night was much needed. I know the Giants are a bad team but so was WFT so that type of shut down with the picks is just what the Bucs needed heading to Indy. Defense is so much about confidence and energy.

They just like to stir things up for clicks. Florio thinks he's some kind of messiah.

A couple of significant changes in the backfield made a real difference. Edwards getting P.T. over ****rell as the nickel has been big, and SMB back in this last game was also a real help.

****rell

Edwards

And, really? We can't get C ockrell as a proper name because of censorship?

Yes. Secondary was in position pretty much all night. Many catches were for 2-4 yards which means they were right there and wrapping up. It is all these little things that make for good team defense. Also, White had a really good game flying around. Also the NT replacing Vea who got the pick I think was good as well.

Brady is playing like a savant. I have never seen him manipulate the pocket better. His throws are all lasers. He looks so comfortable in this offense now.

I just wish that his connection with Evans didn't look so much like hard work

It is odd. At times they look so good especially in the red zone. Then other times, they are seeing two different things. Part of it I think is Evans is just not a great route runner and Brady's throws with so much anticipation that it is a bad combo for both of them.

Did you all watch the 2nd episode of Man in the Arena? I thought it was better than the first episode. Rodney killed it. Wish we could discuss it in the main forum, but it turns into a ****fest and they lock it

Roosters are offensive to some. More to come as we are just at the beginning. I'm in Canada and we are a bit ahead of you in terms of censorship.

I didn't. Can you give a summary?

Cool video, not sure if anyone else posted. I thought this was the ESPN one

Florio was one of the few national pundits who defended Brady all through deflate gate so I think he’s just a contrarian.
