Yep. It's amusing that the "QB School" guy in his latest video about Mac says that Mac was lucky that that wasn't a hospital ball. He's slowly starting to admire Mac but still has to get his digs in.

Watching that live was left thinking that the rules changes are having some positive affect. He was tackled immediately after he caught the ball, so the defense didn't have anything taken away from it. On the other hand, there was no collission that would reduce the functionallity of both players in years to come.

in terms of passing ability/poise id say yeah hes ahead of 2001 brady, maybe closer to 2003 brady than 2001. that said, still dont know if hes as clutch. Even In 2001 brady was crazy clutch. The 4th qtr 10 pt comebacks against sd and Oakland. And the drive to win the sb. So far mac hasn’t shown he can do any of that. This is a huge key in terms if where we can go with mac now and beyond.

Right now thats what seperates early brady from him, and its almost impossible to tell how clutch mac is or isnt since its hard to see how much more the qb couldve done in the tb,dallas games. No and miami , the defense didn’t make the late stop to make it possible and/or we fumbled when having the chance to go up, not mac’s fault.

He nearly pulled that off twice but other factors of the team let him down. Against TB, Folk missed the kick, against Miami Harris fumbled. Both times had nothing to do with Mac's execution and we've seen Brady lose some last minute drives on the same basis. Jones did everything he needed to do to win those drives.

I predict you will see Mac take his game to another level with the addition of Trent Brown. I've been saying for weeks now that Mac isn't getting enough time in the pocket despite being sacked only 17 times (it seems like a lot but it's middle of the pack for starting NFL QBs through 10 weeks). Insert Trent Brown and then you get to see Mac play the way he did last Sunday.

Biggest questions Mac will be facing is 1) Can he elevate his game in the playoffs? I think so. We saw it last year at Alabama. The national stage does not faze him. 2) Can he play in the elements? We have not seen Mac play in bad NE weather yet (rain, snow, wind, etc) other than the TB game where he excelled. Brady had the advantage of playing at Michigan. We will find out more in the coming months.

Good point, early on we really didn’t see the ol or run game that we thought mac would have from the start. Coming off that offseason we felt wr was a bit light but ‘good enough’ ( think theyve done ok), d would be a strength (it has been), and that hed have clean pockets, a strong run game, and pap ability off that run game( hasn’t been there till recently). The first 6 weeks or so was a bit of a mess though with the ol being banged up/ inconsistent. Now it looks like he has that qb friendly supporting cast. The OL pretty much dictates our success.

yeah it wasnt a knock on mac, like i said he simply hasn’t been given those same scenarios so we truly dont know. But that is something brady did do in 01 that we don’t know mac can do. Based on his performances in big games in college, id say its fair to be hopeful he can . But remains to be seen on this level. One things for sure no stage has been too big for him thus far.

So the ‘low ceiling’ contingent of the National media really annoys me. They contends he has a below average arm and inability to extend plays.

Because of his superior ability to process information he gets through his reads quicker than even some ‘elite’ QB’s. His understanding of the game for his age is as good as anyone I have ever seen (Math degree w/4.0 in 2.5 years while playing colllege sport). Media is not about news anymore, its hot takes. Its people taking sides and arguing. Nothing is reported anymore, its just hot button things that make people argue about it on twitter. People will literally make statements that are out there just to get people to react. In reality, pats are playing good, we dont really know everything about Mac, and we do not know how the pats will finish the season.

I am not sure blaming the kicker is why the pats lost to TB and let Mac down. I mean it would be easier to say, get closer. Nobody lets anyone down. Players could have done better in different area's and that includes the QB. Its never won play that loses you a game, there are many plays in a game, some the QB and others could have done better and that instance never happens.

I see you post this a lot. Ok, "a lot" is an understatement. I see you post this constantly. And though you may be posting some truths here, it is also disingenuous.

1. You could name ANY draft or evaluator "expert" out there, and we could easily create a list of their top 10 wrong takes. Even the best are far from perfect in their projections.

2 @BaconGrundleCandy provides the best and most football-centric threads/posts on this site. Even though I believe my football knowledge is very high, he actually proves it. That is why most here respect his contributions. In that way, he is the anti Dingleberry!

3. I do not know whether the list of things Grundle was "wrong" about is accurate as I have not followed your vendetta against him closely. The one that bugs me is the Barmore/DT class thing. Both points can be true. The DT class can be weak and Barmore can be great. But even if Grundle was wrong on your greatest hits of points, surely he has been right on many others? Nah, let's focus on the wrong only because you have a hair across your ass about him. Don't be like the media in this country.

4. Grundle is a potato farmer, not a construction worker. Though I am not sure why construction worker is supposed to be an insult. I envy the skill it takes to do construction (a skill I sure do not possess). And the construction worker was my favorite guy in the Village People.

It seems to be clear that a lot of his struggles getting the ball down the field earlier in the season was the fact that he was constantly under pressure. It isn't a coincidence that once he got good protection (against a pretty good defense) that he took command of the offense and picked apart the defense.
