It's amusing that the "QB School" guy in his latest video about Mac says that Mac was lucky that that wasn't a hospital ball. He's slowly starting to admire Mac but still has to get his digs in.
Branch's first year was 2002, not 2004.Not how I remember it. Brady put up 3500 yards that year, it (2004) was his first year with Branch
Would have been nice if the coaches let Mac go for it in those TB and Dallas games.
He nearly pulled that off twice but other factors of the team let him down. Against TB, Folk missed the kick, against Miami Harris fumbled. Both times had nothing to do with Mac's execution and we've seen Brady lose some last minute drives on the same basis. Jones did everything he needed to do to win those drives.in terms of passing ability/poise id say yeah hes ahead of 2001 brady, maybe closer to 2003 brady than 2001. that said, still dont know if hes as clutch. Even In 2001 brady was crazy clutch. The 4th qtr 10 pt comebacks against sd and Oakland. And the drive to win the sb. So far mac hasn’t shown he can do any of that. This is a huge key in terms if where we can go with mac now and beyond.
Right now thats what seperates early brady from him, and its almost impossible to tell how clutch mac is or isnt since its hard to see how much more the qb couldve done in the tb,dallas games. No and miami , the defense didn’t make the late stop to make it possible and/or we fumbled when having the chance to go up, not mac’s fault.
I predict you will see Mac take his game to another level with the addition of Trent Brown. I've been saying for weeks now that Mac isn't getting enough time in the pocket despite being sacked only 17 times (it seems like a lot but it's middle of the pack for starting NFL QBs through 10 weeks). Insert Trent Brown and then you get to see Mac play the way he did last Sunday.
Biggest questions Mac will be facing is 1) Can he elevate his game in the playoffs? I think so. We saw it last year at Alabama. The national stage does not faze him. 2) Can he play in the elements? We have not seen Mac play in bad NE weather yet (rain, snow, wind, etc) other than the TB game where he excelled. Brady had the advantage of playing at Michigan. We will find out more in the coming months.

I gave you a winner to offset the disagree by DKF, because honestly, he's annoying af and you don't deserve that sh*tThat is on DKF, he’s the most redundant poster since NEM, and he tried once again to bait BGC in this thread. DKF hates the respect BGC gets on this site for his draft knowledge and contributions, and he tries to start sh.t with him every chance he gets.
ESPN suckered me in this morning with a bit of NE/ATL talk and their narrative disseminators lasted 45 seconds before diving into their pre-established scripts: Mac legit vs Mac overhyped, Pats contenders/Pats pretenders. So the ‘low ceiling’ contingent of the National media really annoys me. They contends he has a below average arm and inability to extend plays.
Because of his superior ability to process information he gets through his reads quicker than even some ‘elite’ QB’s. His understanding of the game for his age is as good as anyone I have ever seen (Math degree w/4.0 in 2.5 years while playing colllege sport). He will win multiple SB, not saying he will match Brady, but barring injury a HOF career, that is what this guy who has watched football 63 years sees,
Media is not about news anymore, its hot takes. Its people taking sides and arguing. Nothing is reported anymore, its just hot button things that make people argue about it on twitter. People will literally make statements that are out there just to get people to react. In reality, pats are playing good, we dont really know everything about Mac, and we do not know how the pats will finish the season.ESPN suckered me in this morning with a bit of NE/ATL talk and their narrative disseminators lasted 45 seconds before diving into their pre-established scripts: Mac legit vs Mac overhyped, Pats contenders/Pats pretenders.
And because I'm clearly a sexist, I instinctively dismissed their blonde hostess/sports expert's 2 minute monologue of Patriots insight knowing full well this dimwit, at the most, watched 90 seconds Sport Center Patriots highlights to achieve expert status. At least get the viewer some eye candy
In fact, without any doubt, I know exactly how these Morning Show" football experts spend their off camera time.
Woody is at the buffet table full time.
The skinny ex football guy web surfs for too short tapered pants in pastel colors and designer cringe eyeglasses.
And the token chick scours LinkedIn looking for a path out of Bristol now that ESPN pays nobody except Mr. Loud and Righteous, Stephen A. Smith.
Thank god for this site (minus the Gronkateers of course)
I am not sure blaming the kicker is why the pats lost to TB and let Mac down. I mean it would be easier to say, get closer. Nobody lets anyone down. Players could have done better in different area's and that includes the QB. Its never won play that loses you a game, there are many plays in a game, some the QB and others could have done better and that instance never happens. He nearly pulled that off twice but other factors of the team let him down. Wrong again, a pattern with you. Taxi driver, I meant construction guy was getting very belligerent/snarky with multiple posters who disagreed with his crappy football takes and needed to be brought down a couple pegs. Was a total snowflake about it, very thin skinned, and stalked me for a couple months. Bgc was dead wrong about Mac ("bad arm, only makes 50% of his 2nd reads"), Barmore ("worst DT class in years"), Onwenu "can't play RT because of his body"), Karras ("sucks and can't play LG"). He's been dismissive/jealous of guys like Lazar, thumbs his nose at PFF, and it's hilarious how he pushed for the new 'Content Post' banner to threads as fake validation for himself. I don't mind him retweeting others as a reflection of the masses, just lay off ad hominem when giving a different opinion.

What happened to the Rams in 2001 is what happened to the Pats in 2007. They outcoached themselves and didn’t adapt to what the D was showing them. Strahan said on the Fox pregame show recently that the Pats stubbornly kept going for deep shots allowing the rush to get home.
