Posted this in the dedicated thread but wanted to drop it here to for anyone who doesn't look at that one. Garrett said nothing wrong. His response was actually pretty funny and if he throws shade at anyone, it's more so at Burns.

His laughing at the idea of Mac becoming the feared "Ankle Grabber" cracks me up, like something out of an old '60s horror flick.

Their backup running back D'Ernest Johnson rushed for 146 yards in 22 attempts vs Denver a few weeks ago...so he is capable of playing well.

I think people are overstating this. Sure he had 146 yards in one game. He has 49 yards for the rest of his games this year combined. He had 166 yards all of last year. The Denver game seems to be the outlier In his career. And the Browns ran 33 times in that game because Mayfield was out of that game too.

Remember in 2014 when Jonas Gray came in off the street and rushed for 201 yards and 4 TDs against the Colts? He ended up finishing the year with 412 yards and 5 TDs for the season. So he did very little after that game. And he was out of the league like a year later. Point is one great game from a RB doesn’t mean he is a good RB.

Yep. He's a decent runner and pass catcher. I'm sure the Browns are happy to have him as their #3 but he's not a threat himself like Chubb and Hunt are. With their OL though their running game as a whole will will still be a challenge.

The key to this game is can we keep from being bullied and pushed around by their offensive line?

Godchaux, guy and wise are going to need to win the leverage battle and not play on skates!

no but it means he’s capable of running well behind their great offensive line. I could care less whether Johnson is in the league next year. I care about what he does on Sunday.

It really is nothing. Just fun to stir the pot.

We'll be fine.

Don't forget Carl Davis. He's been playing more lately.

How about playing Barmore more. Guy is a stud. Give Barmore all of Godchaux's snaps. Godchaux is only good for getting blown 2 yards off the line on key plays.

I watched the Broncos game where he went off - he was a wild man out there (think Bolden for the Dolphins against the Pats). The guy is really quick and could slide under a closed door. He makes himself very thin on cutbacks and finds seams.

He's running behind a great offensive line.

Having said all of that, without Chubb and Hunt, the offense is shrunk, and BB knows how to play to a team's weakness. Should be a fascinating battle.

Should be a tough game. I'm surprised we are favored, as I think that is a bit of recentcy bias that may not apply to this game. I see this as a pick em at best, even if they don't have Chubb. We absolutely can win, but we also can lose. This is the kind of game where penalties and turnovers may be enough to flip it. And I don't mean it needs to be a huge imbalnce. 1 extra turnover and just 2-3 extra penalties may well decide this game.

used to love 538....till they said hillary had 95% chance to win...7pm day of election
You do realize that means they were saying the other guy had a 5% chance of winning, right?

You'd have reason to be upset if they said 100%, otherwise, math is math.

He's wrong anyway. The high-water mark for Clinton against Trump never hit 90% at 538 (89.2% on August 14th). From there it went as low as 54.8 (September 26), spiked again as high as 88.1% (October 17), crashed to 64.5% (Comey's bombshell), then ended on election day with Nate giving Clinton a 71.4% chance, thus giving Trump a 28.6% chance.

The data couldn't be easier to find: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/

So the Pats DL doesn't matter?

It does. Would be my 3rd key. I'm a little less worried with Chubbs out. I think the D has been better with Barmore taking more of Godchaux's snaps and Collins taking more of Bentley's snaps

This will be the Patriots 1,000th all-time game!!

Thats kinda cool... this is regular season and playoffs combined... I wonder if they are the first among the afl original franchises to make it to 4 figures... little bit of looking ish up + math, and yes, they will be the first!! pretty cool, pretty cool...

The Pats have played 941 regular season games and 58 post season games so far... 524-408-9 regular season + 37-21 post season...

Original AFL Teams, games played, thru week 9 of the 2021 NFL season

New England (Boston), 999 combined games
Las Vegas (Oakland), 984
Denver, 983
Tennessee (Houston), 980
Kansas City (Dallas), 976
Buffalo, 974
Los Angeles, 970
New York, 965

On a quick watch of the Browns/Bengals game, CLE dominated the scoreboard due to making the bigger plays, namely winning the turnover battle including a 100 yard pick 6. Of course, that's how games are won a lot of the time and Ward definitely earned that pick 6, beating Chase on the route on goal line. But overall, CIN didn't have much trouble moving the ball. Browns like to do a lot of different things on offense. Gonna take a good coaching and preparation effort. Still, it starts with stopping the run, not as tall of an order with their 2 headed rb monster out. I like our chances of hitting 6-4
