If OBJ is released by the Browns and is unclaimed, do you want him in NE on the cheap? (Update: Signed by Rams)

Have you looked at Kupps stats this year,? He is on a historic pace. He's not going anywhere IMO.

There’s only so many guys to spread the ball to, and Miller hasn’t exactly turned it on this year.
Similar to the "player" versus "team" debates we have here about our own franchise...Von Miller doesnt have to be vintage Von Miller. Having Donald remain the focus of the double teams (cant double everyone) means he faces something he hasn't in probably years - one on one (or even sometimes a running back or TE). I think that's a match up favoring the Rams in a lot of situations.

I don't think they're "super teaming" it as much as others do. The guys they're getting are the "Bryan Cox" signings - still good, but not great with a "name" that has more cachet than the current production; however they're also going to be in a role for the new team that will make that role they play usually in favor of the Rams.

You said that. I am just giving you facts. The bucs were 27th in defense the year before Brady got there, oh and yeah, if you have a QB who does not turn the ball over and scores a lot of points and does long drives it helps your defense. Did you not know that? There is not a single person on this planet that said Brady went to a super team. The do not win anything unless he went there, this was proven by....well them not winning anything for 18 years.
WINSTON THREW 30 MOTHER FLIPPING INTERCEPTIONS, AND HAD ANOTHER 10 FUMBLES. SHOW ME A DEFENSE THAT CAN MAKE UP FOR THE OFFENSE TURNING THE BALL OVER 40 TIMES?

Why not? Kupp is expendable because they have Beckham now. Makes perfect sense. And Kupp will take the veteran minimum to play for Belichick. I mean Belichick basically made the slot a marquee position. Kupp might finally have a chance to shine if he came to the Patriots.
So you figure being on pace for 140 catches and nearly 2000 yards isn't shinning. You have lofty standards.

Having your QB throw 30 interceptions makes any defense pretty bad because they're always on the field.
Exactly. Brady is the only Qb to play in Arians system with such high efficiency. It is more than just turnovers but also advanced stats like third down efficiency and YAC/A. Basically, Brady took a high risk/high reward offense and made it a low risk/high reward offense due to his accuracy and ability to read the defense and make the right read consistently.

Talent is one thing, having everyone come together to play a championship level is quite another and that is why everyone from the owner to the GM to Arians and the players credited Brady for their SB win last year.

And on that note, he has literally been carrying the worst secondary in football this year. If he does not put up 30+ every game they lose. Their only win ironically when he did not put up 30 was us.

You're arguing with a Bradyite posing as a Pats fan...

Former Giant Odell Beckham Jr was just released by the Browns, and instead of signing with the Patriots (who some wanted), or the Packers (who were the favorites), he signs with the LA Rams. Clearly it's time to rehash the Brady debate in this thread.

At least Beckham did go for one of his best shots at winning a title like he said he was going to. Respect it.

Of all the teams that were interested, his best shot at a SB was either LA or GB. Apparently he's getting up to $4.25 million from the Rams for the rest of the season. It was a no brainer from his perspective. Meanwhile the Packers were offering him a vet minimum...

No brainer until someone tells him about the progressive income and sales tax rates (city, state and local) for LA residents.

Also, he gets UP TO $4.25m. If Stafford poops his pants in the 1st round of the playoffs he isn’t getting close to that number.

Maybe the same person will explain to you that athletes pay taxes in many states, depending on where they play their road games.

Or that once you get to the multi-million level, the least of your problems is SALT (unless you're a sociopath).

Not getting Beckham will be addition by subtraction for the Pats this week as it is for Cleveland. ;)

So all of those people fleeing CA and NY due to high taxes are sociopaths? I interesting take. You are wicked pissed at Manchin and Sinema, aren’t you….

Over-hyped nonsense.

The great "tax hike" in both CA and NY (and MA) was because of the GOP taxscam, by the way, where State and Local taxes were no longer deductible above $10k - a modest house in MA crosses that threshold in property tax alone. A two-income middle class couple owning a modest home in Orange County or LA County or San Fran County got crushed by the "tax cut."

But still the idea that these places are hollowing out is absurd. It's a miniscule change in population, and a lot of it has to do with people being able to work remotely in the major industries - high tech, computer gaming. Many people don't want to live in crowded and expensive areas, but that's where the money is, right? So now, a lot of people don't have to do that anymore. I don't think that's a bad thing. Big fight among computer game companies out there, poaching talent by offering them full remote. There are very few wealthy people fleeing - but they're high profile, so it makes it seem like a flood. It's not. Many leaving are middle class, for the above reason.

I bought a house in CA 5 years ago for 1.85. It's worth 3.2 now, easily. Yes, tough times. And news flash, I pay less than double in property taxes on that property than I pay on my MA home, which is worth about a quarter of that.

Pissed at Manchin and Sinema? Manchin, no, as he's representing the people of West Virginia and is consistent in his beliefs. I don't like that he's a fossil fuel guy and think that's holding us back, but WV is fossil fuel... Sinema is a fraud and always has been, ever since she was a grifting green, so I never had any use for her. The reports that her favorite parts of the day are hitting up big donors don't surprise me at all, or that she got $750k from Big Pharma so block the drug negotiation clauses.

To your larger point, sure, I don't like a lot of the things those two are blocking, like paid family leave and the government negotiating drug prices. None of this really affects me personally at all, except for a possible tax increase if much of it goes through, since I'm n the highest bracket, which might revert to 39.5%. The change in my tax burden won't change my lifestyle one iota. Not one tiny bit - it would amount to a the hit from a single bad day on Wall St.

Here's a hint: Once you're above a certain level of wealth in the USA, worrying about taxes is indeed a personality flaw.

He's getting $1M for the rest of the season. The other $3M is based on "team performance" incentives (per tweet).

I'd assume $1M for Division (or make playoffs?), $1M for NFCCG, $1M for SB or something like that.

That takes his incentives out of his hands and it'll be interesting to see how he reacts if "team" doesn't make them.

Rams-Bucs in the nfc championship will be really fun to watch.
