If OBJ is released by the Browns and is unclaimed, do you want him in NE on the cheap? (Update: Signed by Rams)

Here’s a blue checkmark. Everyone happy now?

I know that people are sh*tting on this Ramos guy and in general for good reason but I think that it is clear now that his “scoops” are based upon him knowing a guy or multiple guys who transport players to the stadium from the various airports. This is why he has been correct on multiple occasions about people coming for workouts/visits and also being cut (Because those players need transportation to the airport out of town). That is the only reason I am not completely dismissing his Hanscom tweets.

I think he actually broke the Gronk injury/ribs story prior to the Patriots game, and everyone laughed at him...and then the exact story came out a day or two later. It was either him or some other non-blue checked Patriots rumor guy. Anyway, Ian Rapaport is wrong ALL THE ****ING TIME and then you have a bunch of those national ESPN reporters (Russini comes to mind) who basically just read other tweets and word them differently, knowing they'll get misinterpreted as a new scoop.

Not sure if they have a Hertz rental car spot there. Might be Enterprise.

Way too much smoke around OBJ to Pats at this point for it to be pure speculation.
Pats would send a limo with driver.

Sure, but since when do the Patriots fly in people to an air force base?
Hanscom Field is a public use airport owned by MassPort. I’ve got entries in my private pilot‘s logbook from flying in and out of there.

Text reply just now from a good friend who is a Delta pilot but used to fly out of Norwood frequently:

“If he flew in on a private jet, he would go either there (Hanscom) or Norwood. Logan possibly. Hanscom definitely a legit landing spot.”
Any idea where Kraft bases N616KG? That’s his Gulfstream GVI. I doubt it’s Norwood because the longest runway at KOWD is 4000’. N616KG is a G650ER, which at max takeoff weight requires a 6300’ runway. KBED and KPVD are the two airports closest to Foxboro (I was surprised they are both within five minutes of the same drive time) that could handle it. I know the 767s operate out of Providence but that’s probably because the service facilities there are better for airliners. I’d expect it’s very likely the Gulfstream is based in Massachusetts for both practical and political reasons.

anyway, tl,dr version: Hanscom seems very believable.

One year? Is that 2022? Or 2021 only? How can you report this and not clarify what you mean?

I think "one year" means it's for the rest of 2021 only. I'm not sure, but I don't think teams can even offer futures contracts to players (ie., play for us next season but not this one).

But he's talking about the Packers whereas Ramos is talking about the Patriots.

Really hoping Wilkerson takes the next step.

I think he has God given talent and elite athleticism I think he can get make some big plays.
I’d be willing to bite the bullet and cut both Agholor and Harry to pick up OBJ and Reynolds now. Even if they are both one season rentals they are upgrades, and with Meyers, Bourne, and Wilkerson there are some young receivers to build on next year.

I think we take a significant cap penalty cutting Agholor not just this year but also next year. Not sure there's really any bullet to bite there.

I don’t think this guy has any player personnel or coach contacts but I am convinced that he knows someone in the travel department with the patriots. He was correct during the off-season about several random players who were flying in for workout and visit before anyone else reported it.

looks like he knows one of their drivers. But that driver may find himself unemployed if he keeps talking about work so indiscreetly.

I looked at it, as I recall there is a hit next year because half the salary is guaranteed. iirc its around $2million.

LOL we’d take a $16 million cap hit for this year and $10 million for next if we cut Agholor…

They are literally the same place. Hanscom Air Force Base had runways that used to be part of the base. The runways are now public and no longer officially part of the base. The base no longer has air wings attached. But saying they flew into Hanscom Air Force Base wouldn't be out of the ordinary.
That's all true. But I've never heard the airport casually referred to as the AFB except as a waypoint or something. Maybe I would have if I knew someone there. Definitely not in a casual conversation like those texts. I'm skeptical he really knows anyone that matters connected to the Pats.

Doesn't look promising right now....

Cutting Agholor saves you less than 0.5M this year so makes no sense. He also has 5M guaranteed salary on top of 5M prorated signing bonus next yr. Better pray he starts producing :)

Cutting players at this point doesnt save you much cap. Also they can easily create enough to sign OBJ if they want to and more importantly - if he wants to..

PS
I have no doubt Pats can offer him best deal of these 4 (incl top 2y option). Are they willing to? Does it matter to him?

Maybe just posturing from OBJ’s camp but:
