It is real easy for an OC to look like a genius with a veteran future HOFer QB he is calling plays for. Heck I think about any OC could look good doing that.Yeah disagree with that. No way its 90 percent the OC. lol. I mean he is not wonderful, but You said it yourself, he does not have Brady, so a lot more of it is Mac is a rookie with 3 games under his belt. I am not sure there is an amazing way as a coach to just make that amazing. You are limited on exactly what you can do, the playbook is obviously not wide open.
The really good OCs are the ones that calls plays when they don't have this type QB. They are the ones that call the plays that fit the strength of their guy, not the last guy. They change it up when it isn't working, from possession to possession, quarter to quarter, half to half and game to game. They don't stay stuck in what they "think " is best and damn it they are going to make it work!
Same could be said for DCs too!
How many times have you seen teams lose simply because their OC or DC get stubborn in their way and not what is best for their players? I know I have seen it many times.
