1 (not at all) to 10 (completely), how certain are you that Mac Jones is the long-term answer at QB?

When they ran the 2 minute drill he looked great. Then they got in the RedZone and McDaniels puked all over himself because he doesn't allow Mac Jones to throw in the end zone.

But even worse he decided to use Brandon bolden instead of Harris.

Should be a fireable reason on the OC. Bolden barely made the roster as a special teamer. Not to take red zone carries from Harris or Stevenson or Taylor.

.

Everything he does will be compared to Brady.

There's no escaping that shadow.

it's a tough position to be in.

I don't think I can have any amount of confidence that he either is or isn't the guy after just 3 games. I'm not even sure we would necessarily have our definitive answer after 3 years.
That's the problem, if he's not, we lose three years of mediocrity.

The problem is there's just no way he can ever replicate what Brady did. And that's going to be tough to overcome.

GTFO with your ****post.

He will be in Brady's shadow for the short term. Not the long term.

Biggest problem with Jones is Mcdaniels.. 8-9 13 min drive. 2 straight draw with bolden then a dump to Smith. Its almost like they didn't want to score... I don't get it
I read that Mac changed the plays at the line.

If he plays a decade and wins one SB (not predicting this, just saying) that would be a huge, massive success. Unbelievable success in NE has lead fans to unrealistic expectations.

Any QB that leads his team to a ring is a good pick.

Of course.

I think Bill needs to evaluate his offensive coordinator at seasons end. Assuming this continues.

I think Jones can do alot more and McDaniels isn't letting him.

Don't know, still early. I mean I have not been blown away by amazement, but its been about what is expected. I am sure he will be fine. Lot of things to learn and really its up to him.

Ok but McDaniels has been here forever through superbowls, now he is bad becuase there is a baby fresh rookie that holds the ball too long?

Judging him vs other rookies I would give him a solid grade. One thing that is tough is the protection has been awful which I wasn’t expecting. I cant even blame Jones for it. Its like as soon as he hikes the ball the pressure is coming fast. Not sure if thats because the line is just overated and not very good or the opposing playcalls being agressive due to having a rookie back there. Hopefully when Brown comes back it will correct itself. The more I see the more I’m missing Thuney though.

I will say this for all the naysayers, give him time to figure out the quick/hit reads, defeat the blitz etc. 3 games is not nearly enough time. I think he is going to do a lot better but he is going to have a few learning curves along the way.

Just because the team around him is awful does not mean he is the guy. What elite skills does he possess?
150 mil dollars spent in the offseason. Guys that have excelled in other places that were brought in.

He holds the ball, all young QB's do, they are also not good at changing protection, and also not good with changing routes and cutting them off before the snap. This is basically the same oline that has won before.

What becomes more and more evident is how insanely good you have to be of a QB to run dink and dunk nonstop. It worked with Brady because he is literally the greatest quarterback in history. McDaniels seems to be battling Brady's ghost and is dancing with that more than he should, where instead he needs to grow himself.

Honestly, it's a testament to how good Mac is that he has sustained as many drives as he has, regardless of if it being a scoring drive or not. I'm confident in him. However, I fear he'll have a Burrow-esque first year (getting injured for the season) if these protection issues keep up.

The play calls were so vanilla and lack of imagination today killed us.
Why did we abandon the run so early? Let the Saints pin their ears back, I don't want to see Bolden take anymore offensive snaps.

Can we try Wilkerson out in a game he can get separation at the very least.

What has happened to Gunner Olshelski on offense?
It's been non existent he was making decent progress last season.
Then he is a Ghost so far on O.
We should be keeping tight ends back to chip D lineman and give Jones a few more seconds.
Get JJ more involved in the passing game.

Why haven't we practice any hard counts on offense to get some free yards and this maybe the first Patriots game in a long time that I didn't see any reverses or misdirection run plays.

We have one of these games every season and that was no different with number 12.

We will see what this team is made of next Sunday night.
Was really hoping the BUCS came in undefeated and Smug.
However we can only hope that this loss has BUCS pointing fingers and has Tom, Byron and Bruce at odds.

RELAX.

They abandon the run because it was not working and they got behind. The pound the ball offense only works if you are not losing by 2 td's. Bucs pointing fingers? Tom and the coaches at odds? LMAO....yeah I dont see that happening.
