OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Gronk looks like his pre-2018 self. Remember he’s younger than Kelce. His career might be on a second wind.

47 pass attempts thought three quarters for Dak.

Fournette has played almost every down. Even obvious passing situations. He’s splitting out wide. Responsible for two turnovers (as usual). Bernard not playing? Why does this team make such ridiculous decisions with how they use running backs?

It’s week 1 and they won. How many times have we Pats fans looked at an ugly win and gone “this will be a good teaching moment”?

I think this is because the starters literally played 2 possessions the entire preseason. Brady is rocking with AB and Gronk. The others will come along in time like last year. I wish they used Miller more. The guy is a flat out play maker.

Dallas is a good team. Dak is a pretty darn QB and his shoulder looks great. Always good to get the W in week on especially when you have 4 TOs.

Did you see they put in Bernard for the final do-or-die drive and how different it was out there with a guy who will get an automatic 10 yards if you don’t dedicate a defender? Glad they still won in the end. I think Bernard is banged up, so maybe that played into it.

Where was RoJones?

I’m not concerned about anything now that I wasn’t pre-game: their cornerbacks and the number of devastating drops/turnovers by Fournette and Jones.

Bucs played like crap and won. 4 turnovers(well 3 really the hail Mary INT doesn't really count) and a lot of penalties. Great coaching opportunity moment for Arians. The offense does look miles ahead of last year and as for the defense I think they'll be fine.

Dallas is a darn good offense. Their OC is pretty innovative. They attacked the outside and never challenged Tampa up front. Really good game plan. They just couldnt get TDs in red zone and their kicker had the yips in the first half.

Don’t try to run against that D, especially with Dallas’s personnel. I do believe teams with competent QBs will try a variation of it…always made sense.

I think it's safe to say Brady and Gronk still got it top 3 in their respective positions yes even Gronk

???

Jones was the guy who put the ball on the carpet, not Fournette.

I hope the bunting injury is closer to 9 weeks out and not the whole season out. Because I don’t think it’s minor.

Sean Murphy Bunting dislocated his elbow but Bruce Arians says he thinks he will be okay.

That's huge. I thought for sure he broke his arm.
My guess is that he'll get an x-ray for verification. If no breaks or chips are found, it'll probably be a matter of pain tolerance, with the extra days between now and the next game being potentially significant.

Did anyone here pay attention to Darqueze Dennard last season? He just got released with an injury settlement, and I'm wondering if he seemed to have anything left in the tank.

Since the merger, teams are 3-31 when they're -3 in TO battle, have the ball for less than 26 minutes (25:33 tonight for Tampa) with 100+ yards in penalties. Only three wins? 2020 Raiders, 2016 Giants, and 1989 Lions. Add Tampa Bay to that list. Rare indeed.

Four receivers went over 100 yards tonight -- Bucs' Chris Godwin (105) and Antonio Brown (121) and Cowboys' Amari Cooper (139) and CeeDee Lamb (104). Between the two QBs tonight, 108 pass attempts.

Both Bucs linebackers hit double-digit tackles tonight -- Lavonte David finished with 11, Devin White 10. Shaq Barrett had the lone sack, Carlton Davis had an INT and three passes defensed.
