OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Tom Brady gets his 300th career regular-season start tonight as Bucs open vs. Cowboys. Here's where rest of NFL starters will be after Week 1:
Roethlisberger 232
Ryan 206
Rodgers 191
Stafford 166
Fitzpatrick 147
R. Wilson 145
Dalton 143
Tannehill 115
Carr 111
Cousins 105 /thread

More career starts for NFL QBs after Week 1:
Winston 71
Prescott 70
Goff 70
Wentz 69
Bridgewater 50
Taylor 48
Mahomes 47
Mayfield 46
Allen 44
Darnold 39
Jackson 38
Murray 33
Garoppolo 33
D. Jones 27
Herbert 16
Burrow 11
Tagovailoa 10
Hurts 5
Lawrence 1 M.
Jones 1 Z. Wilson 1

Scooter is right. Prescott 2-0 vs. Bucs, and two of the four best games of his career in completion percentage are his two vs. Tampa Bay, both 80% or better. Now that's all pre-Arians/Bowles/Brady as well ...

Dak Prescott when asked by
@MariaTaylor
if he grew up a Tom Brady fan:

The Cowboys are elevating tight end Jeremy Sprinkle and safety Darian Thompson from their practice squad for tonight’s game. Both are expected to make their biggest impact on special teams

Bucs have 55 available with the two elevations, so they’ll need to make seven inactive. Easy to start with Jordan Whitehead (hamstring) and Kyle Trask as the third QB. So five others, with a WR, OL, DL and DB likely among them.

I wonder if Leverett is the eighth OL and Hainsey is inactive tonight, and Adams could be active instead of Cooper. McLendon vs. Davis for last active DL spot is a good question.

On the sidelines here at @RJStadium
— and the paint is still drying — the words "Welcome back." So few fans across the league got to actually see their teams in-person last year. Tonight, it’ll be a full house.

Mike Evans said he feels like he’s in his “best shape ever.” Offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich said he had a “lights out” training camp. What’s been the difference? You won’t believe it!

It really was a great example of "Payback's a *****".

Sources: The #Steelers and star pass-rusher TJ Watt have a mega-deal. He’s going to sign a 4-year extension worth more than $112M — $28.003M average per year — with $80M fully guaranteed at signing. The highest paid defensive player in football.

Shaq Barrett's deal is looking pretty good right now.

I don’t know if I think it was a smart move. No defense player should earn more than donald imo. He is a beast though. What do you think ?

Someone explain to me the logic in how Phil Perry (and so many others in the media) can predict that the Chiefs will win the Super Bowl but also say that the Bucs won’t even get back to the game because “it’s just too hard to repeat.”

It’s so fallacious because they’re just pulling the history card. But teams repeat. It happens around once a decade. (Twice in the 90s none in the 2010s though both Seahawks and Pats came super close) Brady himself repeats! Teams don’t win the Super Bowl the year after losing it unless your team is led by Tom Brady though. Not since 1972!

I’m rooting harder for the Bucs this year than last year after all of this stupid disrespect.

The last couple years have shown me that you pay your stars whatever they want since the cap is fake.

As soon as I stop laughing, I’ll let you know.

Well I know this is the first quarter of the first game, so I’ll probably look foolish in the end, but this was my point this offseason about spending so much money on units that are already incredibly strong (WR, pass rusher) while the secondary, especially the corners, are not that good, player for player. They have a bunch of B- corners.

Edit: I see Murphy-Bunting is injured. Not trying to hindsight due to injury here. Just pointing Dallas clearly knows the weakness of the defense and matches up well.

I hope the bunting injury is closer to 9 weeks out and not the whole season out. Because I don’t think it’s minor.
